With some new awesome games coming out I'm thinking of upgrading the video card. I have a 7600GT and to buy another and SLI them will be around $115-120 or should I get something like a single 8600GT for around $130.
Opinions, comments and slander all welcome. |

Your 7600GT performs about the same as the 8600GT. 8600gt has Dx10 support and is a little slower to boot.
Get another 7600 and SLI them for much better performance. |

depending on the res you are going to be running the games at, I currently have sli 7900gtx's and i'd rather have a single 8800gtx cause it's faster.
I'd never go sli again |

Ticman I have SLI'ed 7600GT's (2 x 256mb versions) and have no problem with games running between 1280/720 and 1440/900. I play ETQW, all the HL2 engined games all at max settings witn 2x AA and 4x Anisotropic filtering at 1440/900 and it runs perfect.

When you have too much money and the fastest card at the time isn't fast enough, so you get 2 :) But after a year or two, it's usually cheaper and faster overall to get a single, faster card. |

I'm trying to convince work to set up a physX enabled machine on demo so that people can actually see it in action. No one is ever going to buy a card that they've only ever seen screenshot's of. Hell, I've even offered to buy the games to install on the system.

You run like a dream Tanaka. TK is a dream (mm dreamie..) I run stuff at 1680x1050 but if it chunks up I don't mind dropping some detail down. I think I'll go the SLI option purely because if I get an 8x00 series then I'll want to SLI that since I'm never satisified :) |
