Topic: A Quick Digital TV Tuner Question

Hi guys I've just installed my new Compro Videomate T750 TV tuner. It's dual digital/analog. Atm Im using a crappy old set of Connexia ears for reception. These are plugged into the 2 into 1 plug which jacks into the PCI card.

Do I need to buy some kind of digital aerial?? Or should I goto like JB Hifi and buy a 10m long co-axial cable so I can relocate the aerial to a better part of the house (in my room atm).

I ask cos I can't pick up Seven/Nine/31 using the Digital Tuner. Analog I get all 6 channels to varying degree of clarity, but using digital I only get ABC/SBS/Ten. It doesn't detect 7 or 9 at all when it scans. Ironically SBS & ABC get kickass reception, while #10 is good quality picture but it gets like a frame every 2 seconds :|

I was hoping to record the Formula 1 GP tonite on 10 so any help would be awesome. Cheers.

Indoor antennas are usually anus unless you're close to the transmitter. You could try getting one of those powered ones that amplify the signal. I'm using an old roof mounted analog antenna that's probably about 15 years old on my HDTV tuner and it works perfectly for all channels.

mmm what whoop said, just go to bunnings you can pick up ones that mount straight to the gutter for 50 dollars, pretty decent considering the huge boost you get in signal strength.
