The Yangtze river dolphin is today declared extinct. It is the first large animal to be wiped from the planet for 50 years, and only the fourth entire mammal family to disappear in 500 years. And it was driven to its death by mankind...

That is no good :( Very cool looking dolphin :(

I only realised this news article because there was a massive picture in my Biology textbook under conservational ecology of this species... looks like they need to update now.

too bad when the aliens come back to 'communicate' with these dolphins and start f***ing up the planet because the dolphins have disappeared

luckily we'll have invented the starship enterprise capable of time travel and we can go back in time and recover a specimen to sate the aliens need to 'talk'

god what a stupid movie that was

i've seen the fresh water dolphin's in the ganges river in varanasi, india & they look like they wanna go extinct... swimming all day in a river of human filth, sewage, half burnt dead bodies from religious 'river burials' etc. it's a pity but i doubt anyone is about to do anything about it while hundreds of people starve to death in the same area.
