hey guys, im trying to set up a network at my parents house.
At the moment they have the net connecting straight into the main computer. They have a netgear router (which use to work fine but doesnt seem to at the moment) I have connected computer A, and computer B via cat 5 cables to the router and the internet. The computers can see each other but cannot access the internet. I have tried changeing the settings in the netgear settings, restored factory settings, removed all firewalls etc and i tried to manually assign ip adresses for each computer but it still doesnt work. I was just wondering what i have missed and what i can do to fix it. I'm going to get a new router this afternoon if i cant fix it :( |

are they with BPA cable?
BPA are moving customers from their old login method of connecting to a non login method. if your parents have been changed over you may need to uncheck the cable login option in the netgear router to make it work. |
