Got a GBA today, and ive been reading the documentation, which instists that you HAVE to use lithium alkaline batteries. My old GB said this as well, but it worked fine with ni-cads (albiet at a reduced battery life). But Nintendo seem quite inistent on needing lithium batts this time, in the documentation and the website. I know a few people here have GBA's, so my question, has anyone tried to use rechargables? What effect did it have? Arigato.

You play for 2 hours, and then have to re-charge for 6?

The difference is, I dont have to buy new batteries eveyr fortnight. I dont have to carry around spare batteries with me. I dun mind recharables, just use two sets of 'em, recharge overnight.

Yeah use rechargable nicads in there the only diff is the Ah rating on the batt it just means the time it will take to discharge under a certain load. You certainly canot danage any equipment buy using a diff batt unless you are charging them with the wrong charger (not recomended trust me)

oh and DSE rechargables rock bigtime just rember with nicads you need to fully discharge them before rechagining I recomend connecting them to a 10w resistor for 20-30 min before changing. It increases the life of the batt. Also if u think your batt is almost stuffed fully discharge it and leave them in a freezer with resistor connected for about a week if it dosent work properly then chuck them out.

Hmm. awesome. Is DSE a brand though? If so, where can I get them and for how much? And have you actually tried them in a GBA, or do you assume it will work? Im just a little worried about sending $200 down the drain.
