I just ordered one, Im not even in Australia at the moment, but that deal too good to pass up :)

Although the 2407WFP-HC (high colour) 24 inch dells are coming out soon (came out in Japan like 5 days ago). Guess they are getting rid of old stock?

Still, they confirmed that they are shipping the A04 revision, which eliminates the banding etc problems with the earlier revisions. And it will now work with 1:1 1080P too :).

cheers

I have had my 24" dell for the Last 12 months. It is the best.

Bit sad about the price now though, I paid $1100 for just the screen.

Anyway not as bad as one of my mates who paid $1600 a month before me.

I have already emailed him to let him know the good news. LOL. :)

Would my lappy monitor out port be able to run it? (128mg vid card) Or i might even use it as a TV for my media centre!

Depends on the video card, I got a 22" (1680x1050 res) and my laptop video card (ATI x1400) could run it fine for desktop stuff but anything 3D would require a whole bunch of detail settings to be turned down.

Its just a regular intel 128mg card. Was either that or pay like..400-500 more for a decent card when all i do is run desktop applications and play videoes.

Digging up old thread yarrrrr!

For those who bought this monitor.
Can ya'll check what revision you got?

I think there's A00, A01, A02, A03 and A04?

What revision do you have, when did you buy it and how much for?

Cheers :)

My 24" Dell is an A01 and I got it for $1200 in April 2005. Part of the original whirlpool group buy.

what about this?? http://computeralliance.com.au/parts.aspx?qryPart=7816

you can get that acer for under $600 here. Of course shipping would bump it a little over if you're not local to the store.

$796? Awww paid $799 for mine.

Still waiting for the HDMI cable :(
HC is the new model apparently. Looks pretty good for now and the new stand kicks ass.

Amazing how fast that code leaked out.
Ordered mine on Tuesday, got it Friday.

the code works, but they're not the ultrasharp monitor, they're a new cheapy 24" they've just introduced - according to the chick we buy our dell gear thru, I just called them up

they're doing the ultrasharp ones for $799 delivered though

I've been told that you can get it $599 delivered with this code: Q142407WHC. Can't be done online though, you have to phone. Guy at work just ordered one. Thought someone thinking about getting one might want to try.

There's a thread on WP too: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/850408.html

Edit: There's also an enterprise code that you can get it for $499...don't know what the code is though..that would be awesome though :p

yeah that's exactly the info in the link partyhat provided

except as I found out when calling, it's not the same ultrasharp monitor we've seen previously in this thread for ~$800 - it's a new cheapy version

forgot to post back here, blahnana called them up and said the same thing, it looks like he's gotten the ultrasharp for $600

lynx, I can't see anything in that link that says there's an ultrasharp for $600, even if it is a moot point

Yeah reading bits from the whirlpool forums it seems like it almost depends on the operator taking you calls. Some are claiming the price as a misprint and others are getting the monitors for $599
Jim
Posts: 6715

yeah it's a marketing booboo and they're just honouring it here and there, according to our sales rep
they've agreed to do the two I bought for the $600 and then even phoned back and said they'd send me a memory card as a token of goodwill, which was pretty funny

it has a range of different video inputs, so just get a digital set top box and plug that into it

It does say on the ad though $200 cash back... or does that make it 799?

yeh it's the $200 off that brings it to $799 cos it says '$799 price inc. $200 cash back'

Keep an eye out in this thread if you want the 24" Dell.

There is also a member / Dell employee who can offer awesome deals on the 27" and 30" models from Dell too, here.

I have around 10 30inch LCDs saved at $1337 deal

I have around 5 27inch LCDs saved at the $1199 deal

Oh and the deals supposedly end after the 2nd of November.
