The Linksys WRT54G* family flashed with dd-wrt firmware.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dd-wrt http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices (Check out the final link so you get the right model that's supported) If you want to know how mind-blowingly awesome and configurable the dd-wrt firmware is, there's a demo of the configuration interface that lets you check out all the features before investing: http://www.informatione.gmxhome.de/DDWRT/Standard/V23final/index.html /cue whoop last edited by parabol at 16:24:55 22/Jun/07 |

Another vote for wrt54GL with dd-wrt.
Just stay away from the latest wrt54g, less memory and I don't even think you can put dd-wrt on it without haxing up some kind of serial adapter thing. last edited by whoop at 19:08:08 22/Jun/07 |

Another vote for the Linksys WRT54GL. I'm really happy with mine. Flashed it with Dd-wrt just like parabol. It has an amazing number of features considering that you can pick these up for less than $100 brand new. Speed improved after flashing it too. There are other flavours of firmware but after reading up on them Dd-wrt seemed to be the best for what I needed.

Where can i get one of these beast's from CA ,U mart,Gamedud dont have that model listed ?????? Umart do have them listed, under Network->Wireless: http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&bid=2&id2=122 For a list of other QLD retailers click here. Just make sure you get a model with sufficient flash and ram. If unsure, just go the WRT54GL. last edited by parabol at 14:44:22 23/Jun/07 |
