It's alot cheaper and the quality is fine to most places. Can be bad sometimes, but that just depends where you call. I used to call America for like 2c a minute and the quality was fine and no real lag.

I'd be more inclined to use someone like Pennytel or BBGlobal instead of Skype.

yeah same pc to pc to Maldives, good quality. Sometimes it would take a while for a response but other than that it was ok (like 3 sec delay or something).

I use it to ring from Denmark to Australia/UK and the quality is usually excellent and only costs me 2.7c/min if it's a landline. Don't how that compares to phone cards though.

I've called china before and the drop in quality was worth paying 2cents a minute opposed to the $1 or so telstra would charge. Like ticman said pennytel and that are prolly cheaper but I just found the convenience of skype well.. convenient :P
I already had skype installed so a cc charge later i was up and running making phone calls. Note it is a minimum of $16 and expires after 180 days of your last call (from http://skype.com/intl/en/products/skypeout/). So make a call once every 6 month and you're swoit. |

I use a calling card called "voice" from seben eleben.
$10 on it get me about 3 hours to iraq and the lines are usually pretty good. If it suddenly cuts out or the line goes all shiity then just hang up and ring customer service and they'll put some credit back into your pin number. |
