Well it looks like another awesome show has gotten the axe. Nothing infuritates and pisses me off more than a network axing a show that is damn good yet continue to fill our screens with s*** like Simple Life, American/Australian Idol and so on.

It comes down to $$$ and % return. Jericho would have been a fairly high budget show. Shows like that have to pull some pretty big numbers just to stay viable.
I dunno if anyone watch "Smith" but it had the potential to be a cracker of a show however it had like the biggest budget in history in TV. The numbers weren't there so it was canned. They don't even have to pay paris hilton any money to be stupid and turn over some decent numbers for TV. Same with Big Brothel, Americanised Idol etc. |

I dont have link just from what I hear from ppl but..
The reason why it was doing s*** on the ratings and hence getting canned is because they were airing it against American Idol and since america is full of f***nuts, jericho got slammed in the ratings. Also, season 2 has already been filmed so maybe theres a chance it comes back? :( also: of course channel 10 are still advertising it, they probably bought 20 episodes. last edited by CSIRAC at 01:40:10 19/May/07 |

It moved way too slow at the start, I watched the first few eps. Got bored of it going nowhere and stopped watching it. I presume I was far from being the only one.

am i missing something ?
it was the s***tiest show on tv. the last episode i watched the main point of the show was getting some stupid fan fixed. they strung that along for the whole f***ing show. how anyone could feel they have the same intelligence after watching an episode of jericho is beyond me. good riddance, s***tiest show on tv. |

s***tiest show on tv I only watched a bit and never really got into it..... but this has to be one of the harshest calls I've seen in a while. With so much crap on TV this isn't the best, but it's far from the worst. |

The name of the show alone was enough for me to never watch it.

There was no second season, the first was just broken up into 2 segments with a large gap of time in between.
It wasn't the greatest show in the world but it was watchable, it's more annoying that it got cut short like it did and didn't have a proper ending |

Same with Threshold. It wasn't too bad, but it had a lot of repetition.. But it just sorta disappeared after a while..

Those that didn't watch the whole season through have no idea, when the Hawkins storyline becomes more prominent the show became awesome.
Anyway i'm pretty dissapointed about it, there is a rumour that TNT may pick it up....but I think that's pretty doubtful and i'm not getting my hopes up |

Yeh I watched the whole season.
After the initial episodes which are kinda cool (post-apocalypse stories always interest me) it goes into a bit of a flat period for a few episodes where it doesn't really go anywhere. There's a fair bit of what seems like irrelevant bulls*** issues considering the context of the story. Things pick up at about episode 5, and it becomes more watchable. Its never a really great show, but it was definetly in the top third of s*** on TV. The conflict with Ravenwood is pretty good. The Hawkins story (basically the story of what happened in the first place) is pretty well told and interesting. The final few episodes with the fighting with the neighbouring town (forgot the name) is pretty much completely awesome. That said, I got a bit sick of Jake pretty much having the same f***ing expression on his face for the entire series. He was actually the most annoying character in the show, very one-dimensional and static for a protagonist. Actually the show would have been a lot better if he'd died in the fight with Ravenwood. The writers forgot a few times that it is a story about survival after a nuclear holocaust and got very caught up in some s***ty overly dramatic sub-plots. Its a shame it got axed the way it did. There's at least another season in it IMO, they didn't really finish anything up. last edited by Hogfather at 11:26:33 19/May/07 |

jericho started slow but the 2nd half of the season was amazing, it was heading towards the kind of show that it should of been from the start and had huge promise.

I was the same with heroes/lost. maybe they can bring a mad show like sliders back ;) that would be sweet Sliders was awesome at the start, but as it went on was more and more lame. No matter how awesome a show might be, after a few seasons they just run out of ideas & then it all just turns into a giant who-loves-who fest. |

Hells yeah! That's great news.
Sure, it got a bit slow around the middle but the last third of the season has been sweet. It's much like Heroes in that you need to watch about 6 ep's b4 you decide if you like it or not. |

Would be good if Drive came back.
And if they made a real go of The Lost Room, the 6 parts were great. Needs more. |
