The third MotherLAN event is in planning.

Preliminary details are as follows...

Date: Saturday & Sunday, June 30th and July 1st 2007
Time: Doors open at 9:00 AM on Saturday and close at 3pm on Sunday
Max Players: 200
Venue: McKennariey Centre, St Josephs Nudgee College
Address: 2199 Sandgate Road, Boondall
Age Limit: 15+
Registration: http://www.motherlan.org/?ml=event&eid=4
Cost: $15 for one day, $20 for both ($5 extra if you arrive unregistered)

Well last time kicked ass, what have you got planned this time?

We've got a few new things in the works. Details coming soon, stay tuned!

How about competitions?

We're aware that wasn't our strongest suit last time. This time we have systems in place to make sure things go off without a hitch. Competition information will be posted 4 weeks prior to the event.

What will the network be like?

It will be as close to 100% gigabit as possible. At the moment we have access to 8x Netgear GS724T switches (3 from SwitchLAN, 2 from Thorndy, 2 from Nudgee International College and 1 from Codebasher). We are also expecting one or two more switches from Netgear, but there are not confirmed. Why do we need all gigabit? To give you the best possible network experience possible!

The hall got really full last time, am I guaranteed a seat?

If you register and confirm for the event, then you will take priority over anyone who just "rocks up" on the day. We will hold seats for confirmed players until 11:00am, after that we will allow anyone to sit anywhere.

Can I reserve a seat for myself/my clan/my friends?

We've had a few people ask us this over the past few weeks. We will be tabling this question for discussion at the next admin meeting. Stay tuned.

Where are you this time?

We're at the same venue as the last LAN. Although since it's winter this time, we expect it to be a much more comfortable experience for everyone. For those of you who are new to MotherLAN, our venue is the McKennariey Centre, at St Josephs Nudgee College.

When you enter the campus grounds via Sandgate Road, you will drive past the running track. Keep on driving straight until you reach the first intersection, then turn *right*. You are at the front of the McKennariey Centre. Continue on down this road and turn *left* into the first car park. The doors to the hall will be right infront of you. Below is a more detailed campus map.

I'd like to help!

Oh really? At this early stage we have a few things we could really use. We need tables and switches, mostly. Since a large portion of the hardware and furniture that was made available to us last time has recently become unavailable.

If you'd like to help out, please email the admin team at admins@motherlan.org, or choose a particular admin to contact from the Contacts page.

Otherwise, we could really use your help to spread the word! We'll be making some marketing flyers available through the website shortly, so watch this space.

Anything anyone can do to help MotherLAN happen is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

This is all the information we have for now. Stay tuned for further updates. We hope to see you all at MotherLAN 3!

You're going to have to excuse me if i skip this one.
Wasn't too happy about having a $3.5k switch returned from the last lan that quite clearly has been dropped, it has a visible crease on one corner.
The least one of you pricks could've done was said something, instead of hoping it wouldn't be noticed. s*** happens, but a simple apology would've squared things away, instead i'm bitching about it on an internet forum. I'm not sure which is lamer, sure do resist posting here.
