For those who came in late (like me) there's another supanova convention on at RNA showgrounds on this weekend. I always seem to miss it and won't have time to go today but just thought other people might have a chance.

I went on Saturday - wasn't too bad, although was way too many people dressed up in Narutu crap for my liking.

Highlights - The two girls decked out as Princess Leia in the slave girl outfit (complete with copious amounts of flesh exposed), some of the other cosplay/costumed peeps running around (Some dude in a Warcraft Orc suit, two chicks decked out as Link & Zelda respectively amongst other things), the EB stand giving away freebies (Lego Star Wars 2 hats, various gaming posters, various gaming t-shirts & other random bits) and also getting to have a sneak peak at the Darkness (some new shooter - looked kind of funky). Oh, and Billy Dee Williams (you know, Lando Calrissian) calling my baby 'a beautiful girl'.. That was rather cool indeed :D

The low-lights though? Mainly that the hall they used for all the guest talks had horrible accoustics, unless you were right up in front of the stage.. Too many pasty-faced people walking around looking like they should've burnt up in direct sunlight. Oh and did I mention all the freaks in narutu gear?

Didn't take any personally... check the supanova forums for the links - atm it's just dodgy mobile phone ones that seem to be getting posted - give it a day or two & the decent quality ones will start showing up

ergh, the two grils as leia were not a highlight, they were just wrong.

once again some impressive stormtrooper out fits, and some decent ff stuff, i thought the number of cosplayers was really rather high this year.

The move to the new hall was good, a lot more room and you didn't have to shoulder past everyone in the crowd. (also having alot more booths with eftpos was good). and having more booths in general was decent.

Quite a few of the local game developers showed up too, pandemic, krome, i think it was EB had a massive booth with a few consoles on show.

I really do wish they would give out mini tins of deodorant in the door bags though.
