I'm in need of some new ram. Mobo is ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe.
Asus's ramlist is very s***house in the manual, and for the life of me cannot find it online. Supports DDR2 667/533.
I need something quality 2gb pref matched pair and definately from gamedude, around 300-350 but not sure which to get. Anyone know what's good and works on asus board?

Will faster than mobo spec ram be ok? Which would be better? ie:

GEIL TWIN PACK VALUE SERIES 2x 1gig (2gig Total) DDR800 PC2-6400
--OR--
GEIL 2gig ULTRA DDR-2 800 PC-6400 CAS 4-4-4-12 2.1 volts (2 x 1gig)
--OR--
G.SKILL Twin Pack 2x1gig (2gig) CL4 DDR2 800Mhz (PC2-6400) Model:F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK
--OR--
G.SKILL Twin Pack 2x1gig (2gig) DDR2 800Mhz (PC2-6400) Model:F2-6400PHU2-2GBNR

And what's the difference in the last 2? CL4?

What's wrong with:

GEIL TWIN PACK VALUE SERIES 2x 1gig (2gig Total) DDR667 PC2-5300, $199

If you're not overclocking massively, then this saves you $100.

Also I don't believe worrying about memory latency is worth it. So much stress over so little gain.

latency isn't anywhere near as important on an intel chip, and if your not overlocking, then get that $200 ram someone suggested. it'll do perfectly

Google around a bit to confirm compatibility with your mobo.

Doesn't hurt.

I believe it just runs at the lower speed & is a waste of money if it's expensive ram.

Glad it aint only me.
I'm going to tradetools tomorrow which is next door to Gamedude, and as if you'd ask them for advice , tried that years ago. Too much effort.

CORSAIR TwinX 1gig x 2 (2 Gig) DDR2 XMS2-6400 800mhz Matched Pair - $329.00

G.SKILL Twin Pack 2x1gig (2gig Total) CL4 DDR2 800Mhz (PC2-6400) Model: F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK - 319.00

GEIL TWIN PACK VALUE SERIES 2x 1gig (2gig Total) DDR800 PC2-6400 - 259.00

Geil stuff is good if u want to save some money and its nice memory. G.Skill is obviously the pick due to have the best timings but some people just love corsair as its proven to be reliable. either way all 3 memories listed are good. Just as with any performance memory make sure you manually set your timmings and voltages

Go the A-Data Vitesta models, cheap and it overclocks very well.

I went to MSY today, got CPU, Mobo and RAM. Was good service, they didnt have the CPU I wanted so I went up a level for only $20 more and it was still very much under the price of gamedude and umart, by $20... their ram is much cheaper too..
