Looks like Guitar Hero 2 is definitely landing tomorrow on 360, EB just rang me up and told me they have my copy there but I can't pick it up till 9am tomorrow.

f***ing STUPID to release a 2 player game, but not actually sell the second guitar as an addon like the PS2 version.

I've seen teh standalone guitar online RRP $80, but there's no ETA. There's an awesome bundle in the US you can get with the game, 2 controllers and a bag for the guitars, but it's for US residents only :(

how do you play this game? im guessing you get a plastic guitar and you press the buttons in time to music like DDR, but for guitar?

I picked mine up first thing this morning hooked it up the 2 different retail 360s at work and neither worked.

Both worked for about 30 seconds, I'd hit a few buttons and nothing would happen about 20 seconds later the button presses must have been registered and the menus went ape s*** flicking through items, then nothing, no controller. I tried all the USB ports, I tried unplugging and plugging the cord where it comes apart several times. When I do get lights on it, it's all of them or nothing.

I have to say, this game is a hell of a lot of fun. I've been playing it all day and my hands and fingers are aching, but holy s***, so much fun.

I've cleared all the songs on Easy with 5 stars, so now I'm starting on Medium but its a bit of a jump in difficulty, so I'm feeling noob all over again. Some of the songs are crazy, even on medium, so I can't imagine how insane they'd be on Hard or Expert. I've unlocked the Trogdor theme and its pretty tricky just on easy.

yeah it's amazing after finishing on medium and starting hard how difficult it is, I didn't bother with easy cause you don't earn money for it :(

Not sure if this was posted before, but you can hook the guitar up to Windows apparently. This means that you'll be able to use it for Frets of Fire (which is basically the GH version of Stepmania).

So it looks like we might be able to cock-rock without shelling out for a 360 (especially once you can buy a guitar by itself).

Yeah, it does work, I downloaded a GH1 song pack for Frets on Fire and plugged in the guitar and it works perfectly. You just need the same drivers installed that let you use 360 controllers on a windows PC and you're good to go.

There's a 3GB song pack I'm going to download off peak tonight with four HUNDRED songs..holy crap, my fingers.

Been playing this for a while, can do most songs on expert and yeah you get super finger dexterity - my advice for when u do hard or expert, move your hand along the buttons and use your pointer for the first 2 buttons as its easier than trying to hit the orange button with ur pinky :)

People have done it and put it on youtube, but they are using the controller i swear to god they are lol - cause when you use the controller u dont need to strum as well

Also learn the hammer ons and hammer off's - makes the solo's much easier - tutorial ftw.

got this on ps2. im so crap at it. can only do it on easy. got 5 gold stars for each song though.

Yeah, I've started practising the hammer ons and pull offs when they show up even in Medium so I'll be ready (or at least, a little more ready) when they're really necessary. I've also started practising sliding up and down the frets a bit, even though its not really necessary on medium, but I find it easier to do Red + Blue chords using my index and ring finger, rather than middle and pinky finger, so I slide down for those. I think my pinky finger needs to harden the f*** up, its not very good at doing anything at the moment.

I'm pretty sure RO has set up single controllers for PAL purchase. Where specifically though is a mystery.

Either that, or you could hold out until Xmas and buy both Rock Band and the super-awesome guitar we're making for that.

Any word on how Rock Band is actually going to be sold? Like will it be a matter of buying the game separate and the accessories you want? Or will it all come in one super expensive pack? Or multiple packs with different instruments?

Or is that all stuff you're not allowed to talk about yet?
