I never went to university. Instead I find myself in an average paying job where I have 40-60 hours a week in which I am required to do nothing but stay awake.
At first I considered this an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with the Nintendo DS and smash out a few good books. Been there, done that. I honestly think it would be nothing short of foolish to waste this time, hence, I need help. I need information on correspondence courses and haven't the first clue where to begin. Anyone have any first hand experiences with this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

I hear Bond University and Central Queensland University offer these courses. My brother in law did a course with CQU while he was living in Gove and found it quite easy to do.

A few people I know who have done bachelor courses externally say they would never go back to studying internally. It's a far more flexible option. Have a look at USQ, they have been recommended highly.

I'm pretty sure UNE does it too.
Edit: I should probably try to be a bit more helpfull. I'm pretty sure entry to external programs is the same for internal study. You'll have to go through QTAC. I'm told getting in as a mature age student (i.e. more than 2 years after you finished grade 12) tends to be easier than it is for normal school leavers. I'd recommend you pick up a QTAC guide on the next chance you get, and google like a mofo. last edited by Crizane Tribal at 12:23:38 27/Mar/07 |

Guys, you are stars, thanks very much for the information and advice.
What job is this? I'm a security guard specialising in the graveyard shifts. Seriously, go to www.training-1.com, go on the 7 day course and you'll never be short of work again, whether part time or full time, they're crying out for guards. With the way society's collapsing, I can't see the world requiring less security any time soon. |

Because you don't have a previous qualification, you could be eligible for funding from Federal / State governments, which can completely fund your course.
What level are you considering? Certificate / Diploma / Degree ? I'm a web developer for a couple of registered training organisation - some of our courses are online, others are face to face during your work hours. Your boss benefits from a trained employee, and you benefit from getting free training and the means to then opt for a pay rise. Our courses are also nationally recognised, and a lot of our students get funding via the method I described. We don't offer all courses - but there's definitely someone out there providing the training you want. Check out NTIS - National Training Information Service. You can search by provider, course or stream of qualification. NTIS Let me know if you want more information. |
