sony is dead

even their hifi tv equipment is crap these days.

Their own fault for trying to set standards and go propierty all the time.

Blue ray will die, HDDVD are releasing their 50gig format soon and thats backwards compatible.

RIP sony :)

Ummm...were all the shots of crowds shown on the TV a few days ago merely staged? I don't think it was as underwhelming as that article made out. Though I agree with the sentiment behind it.

I think it was as underwhelming as the article makes out, considering there was only like 50 - 60 people at the big official one in Sydney. There was also another writeup posted in one of the other PS3 threads (from Angrygamer or something?) from a guy who walked around Brisbane quoting pretty much the same numbers for the turnout.

well maybe they should stop overpricing and try being competative. its got nothing on the wii or xbox360 when it comes to bang for buck. i mean $1000? common. the wii was like $400 or somthing? and the 360 came out over a year ago too. the only time id consider buying one is when the price becomes reasonable. as in sub $600...
reason it flopped was because people got their hands on a wii or xbox360 far in advance of any ps3 release date and they just dont have that kind of money to fork out for a quite average console compared to its competitors.

I was at hardly formal at garden city today and they had this first person shooter game playing on the ps3 (i'm assuming it's resistance - fall of man?) anyway it looked awesomely average at best. More people were crowded around Fight Night: Round 3 on the Xbox 360 than that ordinary piece of ps.

p.s. "It's a phoney!"

I just hope FF, MSG and other titles I like get put over to 360, they'd get too gayed up on the Wii. AMIRITE? I love my Wii, but I don't think it could do MGS justice.

But how cool would it be to swing back the nunchuk and make a sharp slicing motion with the wiimote, across some guy's neck?
That would sell the game alone

I don't have any of the 3 consoles, but the only one i'd consider getting at this point in time is a 360, it has the best variety of games, supports HD and its price is somewhat affordable. Wii won't take advantage of my plasma, and PS3 is too f***ing expensive.

I think that probably sets it out for everyone. If wii was HD, I would also consider it.

After reading the review, I think I'm sold on that. Might just pick it up.

Gotta love that YARRRR! sound effect when he falls off the building. Classic

Nothing wrong with good quality Plasma's. Bought 4 of the Pioneer 50" Plasma's for work over the last 12 months, and quite a few LCD's and there is a noticeable improvement in quality and colour. Then again if you're some kind of freak that will only game on the tele then you would go LCD :/ The new Toshiba LCD's are definitely approaching plasma quality though.

home theatre room + Plasma rocks.

well at least my post has the 2nd option. Yours would benefit from a 5 second pause before hitting the post reply button.

We play the 360/PS3 on one of the new pioneer 50" 1080P plasma's or a Sharp 42" LCD, can see the difference...

do yourself a favour and go read this http://www.cnet.com/4520-7874_1-5108443-2.html?tag=arw

that might help you understand a bit more rather than some cheap pos plasma vs cheap pos lcd you saw in JBHiFi
