Yoinked from Slashdot: NASA link. Definitely worth a look, even if you're not a space nerd.

They are all low-res pics?

You can get to High Res, just requires following a few links for each image :/

http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/multimedia/images/index.cfm
That makes it a little quicker, still a click or 2 away from Full Res though

Definitely worth a look

Awesome stuff.

And in return, I must paste a link to images of the European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft as if flew by Mars a week or two ago. Awesome high-res images of the Martian surface as well as cross-sections of the atmosphere showing clouds and stuff:

props to cassini :D one of nasa's great success stories.

there has been some cool images from the new horizons spacecraft recently as it completed it's gravitational slingshot around jupiter on it's journey out to pluto. not as aesthetically pleasing as some of these saturn pix perhaps but lots of interesting stuff like the imaging of an active volcano on the moon io that has a plume extending 290klms into space!

double props to nasa.

Yeah but whatever space is in must be even bigger!

>consult guide about space
The Guide checks through its Sub-Etha-Net database and eventually comes up with
the following entry:

If you hyperventilate and then empty your lungs, you will last about thirty
seconds in the vacuum of space. However, because space is so vastly hugely mind-
bogglingly big, getting picked up by another ship within those thirty seconds is
almost infinitely improbable.

There was an episode of Battlestar Galactica showing this is definitely possible!

"Images taken using red, green and blue spectral filters were combined to create this natural-color view."

So it kinda is :p

One of the others (First I think) said it was a mosaic of 12 sets of each (Red, Green, Blue)

Good job parabol at trying to look like a sci-fi nerd and missing completely the sci-fi nerd hitch hikers reference.

I've never read any Hitch hikers, so that's expected.

What I mean is the south pole has strange winds and clouds that look like a texture has been wrapped around a sphere converging at the N'S' points.
Look at the High res image on the site, mine is hard to pick out the pole.
