tis raining
Clarke also took 8/58 for NSW against WA, they'll be spewing they dropped him!! p.s. out loss might have more to do with money making (and/or letting the poms win 'for the good of cricket worldwide') scam by Cricket Aus and the English Cricket Board. /tinfoil |

Haha :)
We can't lose this, I'll never hear the end of it from my team mates over here. As for Clark, there are apparently concerns over his ability to bowl at the 'death' of an innings - his variety isn't as good as some of the other bowlers and the batsmen are working him out. Watson will be a good one day player, but he is a guy who needs a decent run of state cricket before he gets the call up each time. He struggles without a good run of form and he has probably been given the call up a bit early. The other thing though is their main spin option of Symonds is out, so they needed to play Hogg, and hence need a fourth seam option. And if they wanted to play a fourth specialist fast bowler, keep in mind Mitchell Johnson is 12th man and can probably feel hard done by not getting included. Lets hope the D/L doesn't screw us in this one... |

They needed 20 overs of the Aussie innings for it to be a game. It's past that stage now, and we are well behind. Only hope is actually making the runs, which seems unlikely. Watch England slow it right down now to delay for the next rain break.
Collingwood will get player of the finals, perhaps even player of the series? |

We've actually benefited quite well from D/L in the past, but this time it got the better of us.
In terms of the amount of runs that were taken off, its dependent on how many wickets have been lost at that stage. If we had lost fewer wickets, the target would have been smaller. But for each wicket you lose, they make it harder as a way of giving some advantage to the side bowling second. I assume this is due to the weather conditions they have to put up with (wet ball, night conditions, etc). |

Don't be fkn losers and look to blame someone; England played well. Good on them for changing the monotonous Australian victories. Cricket was starting to get boring.

^ Tend to agree with that. Personally I find the one day series to be fairly boring anyway, tests is where it's at. Shame England went home with a trophy though, even though it's not the one they came here for :)

I wouldn't mind losing if we had actually had a close game, but f*** what a woeful finish considering how much we were smashing them before the finals

Nah Australia played like s***, it's disappointing to see them lose so bad after being so good earlier, but maybe they needed a kick in the bum to show that they aren't invincible.
Also I blame Symmonds getting injured and all the newish blood to the side, not enough experience yet imo! |

I'm pretty sure a few years ago we didn't even make the finals cause South Afica or NZ lost on purpose.

It was always going to hurt after they lost Ponting and Hayden so cheaply.
That said the Australians bowling was pretty meh ... loads of over pitched deliveries and full tosses that were meant to be yorkers. And I'd agree with trog I'd have preferred a close game. There really was only a couple of close games all season. |

The thing is, we dont need symonds in there, hes injured, we need our current, actual batters to stop playing like spastics. If your going to say we 'need' someone in particular, it should be Bevan :) |

Australia: Played 8 games, won 7, got 3 bonus points and a total of 31 points.
England: Played 8 games, won 3, got 1 bonus point and a total of 13 points. After 1.75 finals, England "win" the series. GG ACB. :) |
