I only saw these screenshots today, and they are shown below. I deliberately didn't thumbnail them so that you always see the full detail everytime you view the thread :)

A high-res video was released a few days ago, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet:

The grass in that shed picture looks a bit s***, but the lighting and the shadows in those first screenshots blew me away, Crysis definitely has its sexy on.

The grass in the shed shot was the first thing I noticed too, it kinda looks like the effect when someone does a clone stamp tool. And the only reason it stands out is because everything else looks so awesome.

Speculated specs according to crysis online:

Minimum Requirements

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6200 or ATI X1300 - Shader Model 2.0
RAM: 768MB on Windows XP or 1GB on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7600GTX or ATI X1800GTO (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB+
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Those recommended specs still look pretty low, not even DX10 or Vista recommended? When thats one of the biggest selling points they're pushing with the game? And it only recommends a 7600GTX with Shader 3 when one of the points of interest of the new CryEngine is that it uses shader 4?

I'm sure it'd run ok on those recommended specs, but its not going to look at all like the sex posted above :P

DX10 will run faster by default anyway, coz its way more optimized and efficient. Personally i'd get a quad core, 4gb of ram and two 8800s to run that sucker.

Yeah, that was the impression I was under as well, cos everything I've read about it says how its built entirely for DX10. Only thing I found about different versions is that theres a 32bit version and a 64bit version.

Actually, ignore that, I just checked the Crytek website and the CryEngine2's renderer does support DirectX 9, so I guess its a reasonable assumption that Crysis will too. Unless Microsoft paid them lots and lots of money to specifically make it a Vista exclusive.

TK you finally have a reason for that hardcore system of yours. Well that and your vector calculations for al-qaeda missiles.

Making a Vista exclusive game at this point in time is suicide to game sales imo.

Wrong. Alot of the screenshots you see are in dx9 mode, they developed most of the game for dx9 and Xp. but if you want to run the game in dx10 (which doesn't add a great deal) You'll need Vista.

wow this should be a good enough reason to get an 8800.

Still has that wierd "soft" look a lot of gaming engines have... even straight edges look like they've been blunted by the light.

I can't explain.
