Are there any dangers in laying your monitor on its side?

reason: using Propeller Heads Reason 3 software which has 2 screens, want to put the audio rack on 2nd monitor with 90 degrees rotation...

cheers

If you only have holes at the top of the monitor, ventilation may be a problem when sideways. Don't have any definitive information about anything else (magnetic field, etc).

(Edit: talked a lot of s***)

There should be an option to rotate the screen in your display options, eg. nVidia cards have nvrotate. Why do you want the rack on its side?

i got told when carrying a TV to keep it upright and not on its side because the phopshors might go funny and change the colour.

I know older monitors went all crazy with their colours the same way as if you stuck a magnet next to it.

i use to turn my TV on its side to play Raiden 2 on the PS. At the time the advice was leave it off for a half hour or so before turning it back on.

I'm guessing physically rotate screen to then rotate the program in the software for more vertical height of the application?

^^ I thought that too but seriously, how much extra would turning a screen on its side get you? an extra inch?
