I finally got my xbox 360 back, and picked up my new 42" LCD today. To celebrate I loaded up gears of ware in 1080i. BAM! disk unreadable! f***ing microsoft didn't fix my xbox!

hey guys, don't lend games to people at work. The disc is now actually scratched. Gave it a good clean and started a fresh game ... so far so good.

pictures of my new TV - LG 42" LCD, thanks to the kids at Computer Alliance ... they also gave me two cartons of beer and two bottles of wine... Although Will did tell me I had to share them ... YEAH RIGHT! :)

Oh is running GOW at 1080i

just out of curiosity, out of the people here who have had their xbox die. How many had them standing vertical as opposed to horizontal?

Mine is standing vertically because microsoft told me that was best. It was horizontal when it broke.

motherf***ing piece of s***. I went out and bought Raibow 6 - Vegas today and it gives me the exact same disc unreadable errors. After a few reboots I start getting graphics glitches in the dashboard, and now It won't even display a picture.

Call Microsoft and all they can do is 'send it back and we'll repair it'. Another 4 weeks without an xbox. Not to mention the support rep outright lied to me, said there was no way to check what was 'fixed' last time, and then later said 'i'll watch your repair updates and make sure it's repaired this time' kinda suggests to me that the f***er knew it wasn't fixed.

Can't get a retailler to advance replace it, can't mail out an advance replacement, can't do s*** for me. great f***ing customer service mr microsoft!

Psycho!

Mines Horizontal no probs so far, but wasn't there a link to a pretty big thread about people getting this same problem and it supposedly being related to the actual drive wearing on the disc scrathing them or some thing like that. Stinky is your particular xbox360 'loud' at or like does it make a racket when accessing the disc ect? Quite a few people with Gears of War get the ' this disc is unreadable' error every now and then but your issues sounds horrendous. I feel for you buddy, I reckon you should just spit chips, tell MS that this is the second time you have had to return it, its f***en Christmas FFS and to send you a brand spanking new one asap.

yeah sucks big time ... I asked the dude if I could put the kids on the phone so he could explain to them why they cant play the xbox this xmas.

I asked if they could send an advance replacement, or authorise a retailer to swap a new one, or even promise me a refund and Id go out and buy a new one ... he just kept repeating that all I could do is send it back. Im gonna call back after xmas and demand a brand new one is shipped as soon as they get mine back.

At work they send an advance replacement box within a few days of lodging a fault ( dev kits that is ). Wish I could get the same for my retail box :(
