World cup qualifiers don't start until 2008/09 from what I understand. And we will get to play a lot more this time than in previous years.

Yes - AFC qualification starts i think early 09 and goes into '10. There will be a couple of Australia/Uruguay type blockbusters here at that time - the AFC has 4 direct qualification spots for the world cup with a 1/2 spot.. this time the 1/2 spot will be played against the OFC winner (NZ most likely) So whoever finishes 5th in the AFC quals will play NZ - usually Australia if we were still in the OFC.

Prior to the asian cup next year the Socceroos are playing Argentina in Sydney and Melb with Brisbane hosting an asian powerhouse - either Iran, South Korea, Japan or maybe Saudi Arabia. Bring em all on.
