Quick question that I couldnt find the answer too on google.

Have recently installed some WD Raptors at work, ghosted them over, unplugged the old hdd and loaded off the raptor. booted fine, however when I login, the screen comes up saying "logging in" and then quickly says "logging out" and boots me back to the login screen.

Anyone experianced this? have I missed a security setting somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated.

Also,

Would norton ghost pick up up all the privacy/protection stuff in NTFS? Sounds like that could be an issue.

Make sure your ghost version supports your OS

Other than that, should be a very simple process

yeah - you need to install the new Raptor drive, initiate it in the 'computer management' section - then reboot. Upon reboot, Windows will log the new hardware as a trusted volume in the registry, allowing you to be free to ghost across data from the old drive to the new without issue. This is especially so when adding a SATA HDD to a system that is running IDE HDDs when using XP with SP2.

I've found anti-virus and anti-spyware software can confuse things during this progress - best ensure all potentially interferring programs are disabled in the background during this process
