I found this really interesting article on Gamespot about the load times for the PSP. I had a PSP for a few months and I didn't really notice the load times to be too insane...but that's probably because I played Lumines all the time :)

Yeah, I agree, haven't noticed it either for the same reason. Lumines only has from memory about 30MB of data on the UMD.

Ya, I did Trog, that's why I sold it :) Now I play it on Xbox Arcade :)
I love my DS, I have like a dozen games on it, and I pretty much like all of them. I have games on the Xbox360 I want to buy, but f***ed if I'm spending over $100 on a game. last edited by Tim Tibbetts at 09:55:30 23/Oct/06 |

psp is like $260 now and its f***ing awsome, the load times are a little annoying but the detail and the quality of the screen makes up for it.

Except you're contributing to the Sony machine - I've decided I'm not buying anything by Sony ever again until they switch from their lame controlling-everything system to a more open model.

So - you use your $400 console to play one game? The kids played with it for a while and then the xbox360 walked into the house. I use the awesome PSP for music, storage of digital pics and downloading some awesome rss feeds from Nasa weekly and Command N in Cananda, which I take with me to soemthing that I might think will turn boring and slip it out to watch the shows I have stored on it to catch up with some news and s***. I was on the sideline of a pretty boring soccer training game one night, so I fired up the PSP and was watching some Nasa footage from Nasa weekly and this woman came up to me and asked me what I had in my hand. When I showed it to her she was totally amazed "at the little TV thing" I had hold of and went off to get her teenage kid to explain exactly what it was. I must admit I use it way more than I was expecting to when I bought it. |

Well I don't think you'll have to worry for much longer Trog...as Sony is going down the gurgler.

Yeh hopefully the PS3 is the final nail in their coffin :) It's a shame cuz they make such nice stuff, but then they just go and retard it all up. I'd happily have bought a PSP on day one if I could have gone out and downloaded free stuff for it like Doom. I know they want to make their money off software, but sheesh. Also, $30 PSP movies, seriously f*** off.

Also, $30 PSP movies, seriously f*** off LOL We had a guy come into work wanting to know if we were gonna rent PSP movies. He had gone out specifically and bought a PSP so he could watch movies in bed. f*** watching movies on a screen the size of a postage stamp. I can understand if you're travelling or whatever but to get it just to watch movies in bed is dumb. |
