Having read the two books that have been released thus far, and loving them both. I Reckon this movie looks awesome.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449010/trailers-screenplay-E29123-10-2 Looks to be well made but I dont think I will be able to handle John Malkovich as King Galbatorix. After seeing some of his past performances, It will be a little hard to take him seriously =/ Should be good though, coming out some time in December and Eddie Speleers looks to be a good pick for the role of Eragon... check it out =D |

Oh well, I no longer have any interest in seeing this movie as they pretty much showed the whole thing in the trailer.

yeah fully, i've read this book and there's not much more to it than what was shown in that trailer
also i found it to be a boring read, mildly entertaining, readable to the end to a degree (in the sense that it's one book i did finish reading), but otherwise not worth the effort/time. very standard plots, nothing really amazing. but, it's a great effort by a 19 year old writer (at the time of writing). the bad news is i've heard that the second one is even longer and with less appeal throughout it, so i guess he hasn't improved with age, and the fact that mummy and daddy own a publishing business had a lot more to do with this being published than any actual talent or flare |

When I saw the trailer to this and also saw that it had Jeremy Irons, the horror that was Dungeons & Dragons ran thru my mind. Prolly wait for a DVD release.

Since we're derailing this with other movie references, I'll just say that the movies that comprise the Conan series were the best movies ever made, ever.

no no no whoop, it's not like aragorn, it's quite ingenious really, you see ... the book is about dragons, and a boy that will ride them, and he just happens to have the same name as the first person to ride them in the past, which is totally by accident. so, of course there had to be a really fitting name, so our young friend christopher thought "i know! it's about dragons, so it has to be like dragon ... let's see ... D R A G O N ... if i make a change here and put E instead of D, it becomes E R A G O N ... WOW! it's like a totally different name! and no one will be able to make the connection!"
so cool |

Oh God, Rev, you are right.
I still cringe at the thought of that pinnacle of celluloid vomit that was Dungeons and Dragons. |
