Okay guys, tell me what you know about brampton island. we are going there for the honeymoon, and have landed one of the top of the line rooms for 5 nights.

all meals are included in the package we paid for, the only thing to pay for are activities and drinks.

so anyone been? whats it like? would end of march be a good time to go? (too late if it isnt) and also, how much are the general costs of stuff like getting stinking drunk and such forth?

I've spent weeks over there as a kid (benefit of growing up in the Whitsundays) an my mum worked over there playing piano an s*** so I got free travel. While this was a while ago, it was awesome fun.

Good walks if your into that sorta thing an they used to have daily excursions out to different reefs and across to other islands. March is a good time, though you may end up with a couple of rainy days as that's part of the wet season (if we ever have one again). One thing that I do remember is that everything is expensive and I doubt that has changed!

Okay cool, basically we want to do stuff like the jetski safari and the deep sea fishing, which we know the costs of, but its moreover stuff like drinks

other people have said some whitsunday island resorts are incredibly cheap for drinks but i was a bit doubtful

Tung we spent a night on Hamilton Island and while I wouldn't say drinks are incredibly cheap, they weren't noticeably more than you would pay at a bar here. As an example, cocktails at the Hamilton Island resort pool bar were $10.50 during happy hour, and $13.50 normally. Most of the bars have consecutive happy hours starting in the early afternoon so you can just move from one happy hour to the next!

haha doob, well yeah but my body needs some drunkeness too!

basically brampton looks uber, theres 17 beaches or some s*** and you can buy picnic hampers and go for a walk through the forest to one of the beaches, or you can organise a dinner on the beach, or a sunset cruise dinner and other diff things

i basically wanted to do cool stuff during the day and kick back with drinks during the evening/night so this seems to fit the bill!

nubbin, we looked at some of the other islands like long island and dunk island and those were the places people said the drinks were cheap. 10 bucks for a cocktail during happy hour aint bad at all though

i work in the industry so a few tips.

My biggest tip and i really stress this... DO NOT GET THE LAUNCH!

its small its s*** and for an extra $20pp each way you can get a flight over to the island in a small aircraft. Its only a 15 min flight versus 1hr 45mins in a tiny s***ty boat that everyone throws up in.

2. what room type have you actually got.. unless its Premium Ocean its not the top.

3. Brampton is not that flash. it is definately orientated for couples but its a 3.5 star resort.. dont expect luxury. Its comfortable, its clean, it does its job.

If your wanting a luxury holiday in the whitsundays, hayman is ur only option.

but these are just some friendly advice not actual travel advice. (just covering my ass).

p.s. Infi was at long island in june/july. Jugs are around $11 and it was either Carlton Draught or VB. Cocktails were $12 and upwards for normal prices. Make sure you get a package with all meals at long island.

i got $150 of drinks vouchers so that should last us the first day.

is the premium ocean, the accommodation that is actually in the water? or is it just on the beach

its small and dodgy.. i dont know of a person at my work who hasnt thrown up on that boat. Plus going to the island is often the worst.

she is seriously scared of heights, PLUS its been paid for already! :p

also, shes grown up around boats, she apparently has never and will never throw up on one :p

yeah but you're a blackman, and the water isn't your specialty, you need land to not get sea sick!
enjoy!
