How come he didn’t have to anchor the pendulum? What was stopping it from falling down?

obviously the rope would have to be ancored to something because there isn't much use it simulating rope just hanging. so im guessing the rope ancors to whatever is attached to it. if nothing is, it will anchor to the background.

What was stopping the ramps from falling down, and that springy basket thing?

Its seems the X's he drew in the shape made them defy gravity. As with the springs and hanging circle I think single lines are on auto-anchor mode.

There was a thread on SA with a program similar to what that guy was using. People had made some crazy s*** with it. In fact it looked like the same results as the video I saw so could well be a different interface for the same physics program.
