Did anyone else catch Top Gear last night, for the torrent boys it was the one with Mark Webber(2005) doing the hot lap in the s*** box Susuki Liana. They gave him a tee shirt which said something alongs the lines like "I am the Stig" with a characture of Stig on the back...

Now I have looked on the Top Gear sites and they have no merchandise for sale! Which suxs, cause I want one... a little help anyone?

I was talking down the pub with some guys from work about wanting an "I am the Stig" t-shirt and one of the guys decided to rip off on the idea and put it up on his Cafepress site.

That would definately be a cool shirt, as long as there aren't 1000 people walking around wearing it as well.

If you want something like that that bad you can always make your own custom shirt and have that written on it.

Or you can just steal a quote out of top gear and have at the front: "some say he's a ..... others say ... all we know that he is called.." and on the back have THE STIG.

My brother got me one for my b'day from this place. Search for stig and you'll find the shirts. They ship to Aus and everything and the shirt seems good quality and fits well.

howd mark webbers lap rank on their list?

he went on a special F1 drivers list...Damon Hill was the only other driver at the time, and Mark was about 1 second slower, however his lap was in the wet, so according to Clarkson, he would have ended up about 3 seconds faster than Hill.

IIRC Nigel Mansell later came on and beat them both.

It's just a rumour that Hill is the current Stig, and considering the difference in their racing lines, I have to doubt it. Also considering the two seconds difference, it's hard to believe. Hill was s*** anyway :)

sounds like bulls***, damon hill is incapable of driving fast, infact i struggle to actually conceive how he won a championship....

erm yes he is, sure williams was strong, but he held off villeneuve, schumi and hakkinen. then got dumped by williams for his efforts, how rude.

it says nigel mansell takes the same line as the stig, but in the episode they say he flew his jet over the track to get a better look at it, plus he isn't retired like damon hill.

its probably more likely hes not an f1 driver cause, maybe more like an ex-BTCC driver or something. or probably even more likely is that hes not just the one person.

I've also read a few other articles that point to him being Damon aswell but I can't be stuffed digging that up now, just because he took a different line during a lap...who's to say it wasn't done on purpose? Its not like Top Gear has never deceived anyone before (Top Gear wing anyone?)

Damon Hill was fast in qualifying he just could not pass people, this is why he was crap. Given that he could be the Stig because the Stig is on the track alone and I am sure he has done thousands more laps than anyone that appears on the show.

In the episode on monday, Jeremy alluded to Michael Schumacher being the stig, at least some of the time. When he gave Webber the shirt, he said something along the lines of "Don't let Schumacher see you wearing that... (laughter ensues) ...that's why he's not having a great season this year, spends too much time here". Prolly just full of s*** though.
