what AV codec packs does everyone here use?

I used to stick with the defiler pack but after a recent reformat and reinstallation of defiler some videos have appeared with all wacky colours and pixelated.

so, what do you guys use?

ffdshow.

only ever used gordian knot and never had a problem

media player classic + ffdshow has been kind to me

what AV codec packs does everyone here use?

I use VLC as it comes with its own codecs that don't mess up the system. I can play almost everything.

gordian knot ftw

Everyone saying packs is newb, ffdshow and any media player of your choice does pretty much anything except real and quicktime.

Defiler Pak includes ffdshow, and more.

Then why install it ? ffdshow's libraries handle said more. Not to mention you're using a year+ old version of ffdshow.

used gordian knot for years. In recent times I started using the Mega Codec pack mainly because it includes extras like quicktime alternative etc.
