Any forum that locks threads because the mods (aka Trog) have a different viewpoint is not the forum for me. Forums are for Open discussion, not 'open discussion but only if it coincides with what I think.'

Don't post too often (I've been here for years and don't touch others post counts.)

Don't bother with your own threads where your opinion is involved. It will become a troll match.

Remember the mods are people, flawed. Hopefully I won't get squashed but this forum definately has some of the worst mods (Hi guys!), too often they are effected by personal feelings towards members or subjects. Sometimes they are on the ball, other times they are not.

Stick to lurking.

If you decide to post, write your post and read it back to yourself. Do this while your mouse pointed is over the X button ready to close the page. This way if you go "I don't really give a f***" or "Maybe this isn't such a good idea" or my personal favourite "I've got better things to do". This saves you and others time and effort.

Don't take anything personal. By god it's an internet forum. Call me a wanker to my face and I'll bitch slap you, but say it on an internet forum and I'll laugh at the effort you took to even post.

It's simple really, not my favourite forum around but I have lasted. Unfortunately the other game related forums are even worse again. At least the guys here know a thing or two about running a forum/lan. Some people who are "admins" elsewhere bearly know SFA about pcs, and that pisses me off more then having to deal with peoples personal little moments.

Just remember... forget it, it's a forum. Honestly, it could be deleted tomorrow like it never happened.

It wasn't locked because I have a different viewpoint - it was that your posted what was an inflammatory article from a super dodgy looking site without even performing the most cursory of checks to see if it might not be real. I thought I explained that fairly clearly in my post, but maybe I was too subtle.

The short answer is, if you're going to post potentially inflammatory stuff on the forums,you're welcome to do so, but put some effort into it so the rest of us that actually want to discuss it rationally can do so without having to base our responses on airfacts, uninformed opinion, or generally useless uninteresting links

Maybe just delete their posts instead of locking them. I always enjoyed the disappearing posts more then locked ones. Confuses the minions! Plus saves on useless posts being archieved.
