I've come across a lot of disappointing movies that weren't neccessarily hyped but i had high expectations from em but all i can think of right now is Miami Vice.

That was snoringly boring.

Yep

I could easily say Miami Vice is in the top 3 most s***tiest movie I have ever seen...

You heard a bit sigh of relief from the cinema once it finished.

Dracula 3000 is THE WORST movie EVER made. I highly recommened u hire it out. It has to be seen to be believed on how bad it is. It scored 0/10 on many review sites.

I urge u to see it just so u can be as dumbfounded as i was on how such s*** can be made.

Disappointing movies:

* King Kong: I fell asleep halfway through and continued watching the next morning.
* Star Wars EP1: What did the long pod-racing scene have to do with the plot?
* Pirates 2: Jokes repeated too often, long boring scenes.
* House of Flying Daggers: Didn't really go anywhere, deceptive.
* Matrix 2 & 3: We have a 'porblem'.

Surprisingly entertaining movies:

* Doom: Lots of cool scenes.
* District B13: Parkour rocks.
* Kingdom of Heaven: Who would have thought Orlando Bloom could play a man?

I enjoyed collateral mainly because jamie fox played the staring role and was exciting to watch, unlike in miami vice where he was dominated by collin f***** posing in every single scene. Instead of being the tough double agent that wont stop at anything he ends up falling in love with some mangled face asian business woman who in turn falls for him as well.

I went in expecting Miami Vice to be really s***, but didnt really mind it. I think its a given he will never make another Heat though :)

Last movies I was really dissapointed in would be everything Luc Besson has done since The Professional and the last few Jet Li movies too. Agreed with the matrix sequals and all 3 Starwars prequals.

Worst movie ever made award goes to Aussie Park Boys. It has an Maori dudes face on the cover which is half tattooed and it touted to be "the most racially violent film" ever made.

What it actually is, is the biggest load of horses*** ever made. I don';t give a f*** how many tiny, overseas awards it won, it's absolute garbage.

Watch it, I dare you.

I didn't mind Jet Li's Unleashed but i was disappointed with his latest and apparently last movie to be made called Fearless. After watching movies like ong bak and Tom yum goong staring real mau thai kick boxers such as Tony Jaa, holleywood shakey cams, cgi and wires just dont cut it for me in martial arts movies anymore.

But i agree with rev on Lucky number slevin and Lord of war, they were awesome. SAW 2 was also brilliant. On the flipside transporter 2, xmen 3, XXX2, F&F tokyo drift were pure rubbish but that's not suprising.

Strongly agree there. Extremely boring and didn't get much out of the movie.

Christ, isn't it easier to name the good movies and just let everything else be disapointing? I've seen like two movies that I've enjoyed in the last three years - Sin City and Batman Begins.

History of violence was excellent.

Hard Candy was clever.

Clerks 2 was pretty funny.

Van Dammes new one The Hard Corps is shocking. I thought Van Damme was on a comeback?

'Bad Movies'... fuk man, where do I start!

Honestly the past few yrs have been an absolute fecal explosion!

Jeez I can only think of a few good movies I've seen amongst a sea of monkey turds.

One thing for certain is that Hollywood had definately run out of ideas.

I've found the best way to reduce the number of movies you're dissapointed in is to not go to the movies. It's too easy to get pissed off with the s*** that gets churned out today if you just paid to have your senses blasted with it in a cinema.

Batman Begins would be in my list of s*** disapointing movies, and i wasn't expecting anything at all. The plot had huge gaps in it that made no sense, and there was no progression of plot. It felt like i slept through parts, but i didn't.

Good->OK movies recently:

Lucky number slevin
running scared - crappy end twist, otherwise awesome.
The Break Up - turns out this is piss funny afterall.

Hard Candy

Miami Vice was the biggest piece of s*** I've ever seen. The whole script/acting/filming was absolute s***... but I thought maybe the action could have saved it... but no that was even worse.

Miami Vice was not your typical action film and that seems to be why it's getting so much hate on the net. I thought it was spectacular, but I guess subtle exposition doesn't go down too well with the masses.

1) The blair witch project.

2) Napolean Dynamite.

Both two of THE worst movies I've ever had the misfortune of watching upon hype of it.

Bad Movies

Superman Returns
The 3rd Maxtrix movie
Pearl Harbour
Evil Dead 1 and 2 (I don't see why people like it, i think its utter crap)
The Thin Red Line ( 2 hours of some guy sitting on a swing)

Best movies

Maxtrix 1
Batman Returns
Saving Private Ryan
Apocolypse Now
Napoleon Dynamite
Lock Stock and two Smoking Barrels
Fight Club

Best Aussie Movie ever,
The Castle

I just saw the new aussie movie documentary called Kenny. Funniest Aussie humour i have ever heard.

edit: In reference to the post below. Bowling For Columbine told the truth, even though Micheal Moore is annoying, He was right about the guns issue.

Jum> See, it's people like you whom made me sit down and watch napolean dynamite. Telling me it was great, when in fact it was the biggest waste of time I've ever endured. Not even Bowling for columbine was that much of a waste of time.

I have to admit, although Sin City isn't the usual sort of movie I would watch, when my ex and I hired it out to watch I was really quite surprised at how good it was.

Also, I have to agree that I find most movies these days disappointing too. The last movie I saw that I actually really liked was prolly the Sixth Sense...and that was a few years ago...

Yeh, I've pretty much given up. I've seen maybe 3 things in the last 9 months at the cinemas? And it's not like I'm making it up by downloading them either, I've switched almost exclusively to TV shows.

The last thing I saw @ cinemas was 16 blocks a couple weeks ago. It was OK, dragged on a little bit.

werd. there is a real lack of decent movies coming out in the last few years but there has been a swag of excellent hbo drama series. even if there were decent movies to see i'd rather see them at a mates home cinema than the public cinemas.

i've been randomly watching world movies on foxtel and have found some pretty cool movies by accident:

inital d - car movie think fast and furious minus the gay and plus some cool cinematography

warriors of heaven and earth - just a cool martial arts moofie

something july (not real name, i just can't remember it but its european and has "july" in the title) - funny film about this mofo who goes across europe

I hate movies where they use terms I do not understand. It's not really ignorance either, as I am not black/columbian/gungster/drug f***ed... nor do I belong to an association such as the F.B.I. So I found it really hard to enjoy Miami Vice. I'll admit, im a simple sort of person, where X person shoots Y person for Z reason.

Miami Vice reminded me of pearl harbour... a lame attempt at a love story with some action. A movie made for both parties in the 'couple' to enjoy. I guess being a bachelor, this movie was not made to interest me, and it succeeded in doing so.

I just watched Miami Vice then and thought it was very average. There's something about Colin Farrel that doesn't do it for as an actor. Also being a Michael Mann film I expected something cool like Heat and Collateral but it didn't happen.

Hopefully Snakes On A Plane will be better. Will find out soon.

I'm also on the "Miami Vice was crap" bandwagon. I was expecting something cool because it was by Michael Mann plus the trailer looked rad, but it was just a big pile of boring crap. No action, s***ty story line, s***ty love story, dialogue was hard to hear at times, and like someone else said too much Colin Farrel and not enough of the duo kicking ass.

Other classic letdowns were Matrix 2 & 3 as well as the 3 new Star Wars movies. There's many others that I can't recall right now.

Either that or you need to go back to your BBC drama shows.

The movie I've raved about recently as my favourite movie in the last year would have to be "Click" that movie was quite impressive, as it left myself feeling like everything around me was much more significant!

Only way to understand is to watch it. It's a little... uhhh... a lot touchy-feely towards the end, so if you're a macho man with no emotions, it'll be useless you watching it. But if you've got a girlfriend and want them gooey in your arms, watch it with them. The ending has that "awwwww" factor.
