what's the point of google talk exactly when everyone is on msn and you can easily get rid of all the adverts/bs tabs on msn?
google talk just seems like a really bad version of msn with about 10% of the general features. going to have to do a lot better than this to make me and others want to convert to their network |

I think its a vastly superior version of MSN, with about 10% of the general 'features' (aka, bloat). Right now GTalk is using 17mb, MSN is using 39MB. On my work PC I see MSN using 60+MB, wtf!! I turn off all the photos crap. What the hell is it doing that it needs that much RAM for?! (I think even GTalk is excessive)

well of course if you don't have features in there it's not going to use as much ram ... in theory msn shouldn't be needing so much, it's true, but it's worth the crap due to how easy it is to use and how much you can customize really standard and simple things like people's names and contacts
msn only uses 9 mb if you minimize it, 40 or so if you have it displayed ... dunno why, not really something that has ever affected me |

I wish I could disable the stupid chat inside the webbased mail client.
I also wish google talk worked with Ultramon and it's "Smart Taskbar" like every other single application I've ever used. last edited by scuzzy at 09:34:36 18/Aug/06 |

Gaim for the win, I'm running ICQ, MSN and Google clients all in one package, it does yahoo and others as well if you're that way inclined

actually, that reminds me - I was using GAIM but since updating to MSN Live GAIM no longer works for me - gives me an error when trying to sign in. Anyone else have that problem?

You can - look at the links down the bottom of the pagesweet, you would think something like that would belong either near the chat div or in the settings, crazy google. |
