RE Modding cost, You can do a softmod for free (hdd hotswapping) and have the same functionality of a standard chip. If you have a memory card and one of the exploitable games it's a lot easier. (no, i can't tell you how to do it, read the guides on xbox-scene.com ).

Its basically an exploit in Mech Commander and the use of a small xbox>usb adapter that fits in one of the four console ports. I know someone who might be interested in modding up a small (10-20) run of these things if theres interest...

Bought my xbox off ebay a few months ago for 140 with something like 8 games and 2 controllers.

I killed it.

With the 360, and the soon (if ever) to be released PS3, is there still a huge actration of getting a regular xbox (or even a PS2)? Won't these become outdated rather quickly? And do the games for the xbox run on a 360? (I no nothing about the xbox or the 360 so forgive my noobness).

TK - There are only a handful of backwards compatible games but more are being (very slowly) patched in through Xbox live. Still no sign of the only game that matters, though

shame my boy operator has stopped doing them, due to the strain it was putting on his pc components (hot swapping and such)

im sure u could pay someone to do it, cheaply or even a chip is cheap these days

Your taste in funny and things that are good has many times been shown to be complete ass to hashy the negative monkey so go troll someone else.

Hashy is definately a bitter pessimist who always sees the glass half empty, if not all empty.

Using his point of view, that's a good thing from my point of view, since i can smash it over his head without spilling any water on myself, if it was all empty.

xbox 1.6's can defenitly be softmoded, my uncle's last 2 xbox have been 1.6 versions and both have been modded fine, just some of the linux installer wont show on screen properly, which u dont realy need to see badly anyway apart from that if you leave it for a good 30mins to be safe it will always finish correctly.

the hardest thing is to find mechassualt 1, that isnt the newer xbox live or platnium labeled one, as they have been fixed and cant work, if found at least 4 copies of this initialy where i am, but now there is only 1 left, the other 3 have been stolen from the video shops lol!.

JB also have Fanatec Speedster 3 Forceshock Steering wheels for $99 they are normally $299 can't wait to try mine out.
