Well its been a long time between drinks in terms of QGL-S1 threads, but we got to reminiscing about how awesome the last track day thread turned out and decided to post another.

The most recent track meet was yesterday. Drivers were:

If youve got tread and the rubber isnt too hard you should make it past scrutineering no worries and theres a group out there to suit every level of car/experience

my rears are pretty much dead now. I had much better tyres on the front, too, so it made for lots of fun ;D
but i still managed to keep it (mostly) pointed in the right direction and finished the day with some respectable times.

I'm getting really interested in track days now as my car is almost running good. =]

no qualifying or anything. You just pay money ($110 + $55 track licence for a half day) and come along. Your car and helmet will be inspected to make sure they are safe to go out on the track, and that's it.

what times did you get down the quarter nf, they were kept pretty quiet. around the 14 mark? :P

he may not be cutting mark skaife lap times like I'm sure you could, but at least he is willing to get out there and have fun in his car.

also, nF wasn't the only curious one - I would have asked if he hadn't already. it comes with having seen strange things out there, like integras going as quick as gtr's and a leyland p76 going even quicker. so you can't tell lap times just by looking at a car, even given its dyno sheet or bank balance

Technically its not oval racing, so its not driving around in circles as such. Sarcasm towards that I can understand, but do you call your commute to and from work each day "driving / catching the bus around in circles" ? I suppose some people would given the rut of a dull routine you might quickly find yourself in with that aspect...

As for the lap times I did, they were all over 1 minute. It was my first time at QR and actually my first time on any track besides a gokart one. I have the spreadsheet somewhere of the exact times the guy from Sideline Motorsports sent me a few days after the day, but I'd have to dig for it. If its just a passing curiousity thing then they were between about 1:10 and 1:30. I dont recall the avgs for each layout (clubman / touring / I dont think sprint circuit ran that day)
