forgive my lack of thread title description, but im chasing a program for use with my dvico plus internal HD tv tuner for my pc. The software supplied is reasonable but a little unstable, and i cant drag the window over to my 37" lcd tv cos no picture shows up. only way to get it onto my screen is to change the full screen video settings in the nvidia advanced window. Any how i was hoping some of you fine folk can recomend me another program that will allow me to watch and record HDTV doenst matter if its free or not.
thanks.

SageTV looked nice but at the time I tried it 12-18 months ago, and with the same card you have, it didnt detect it. Course software usually comes a long way in that time...

now that I think about it, what you're describing is probably a limitation of the nvidia drivers rather than the tv software. It can probably only do overlay/VMR rendering on one monitor at a time and chooses to do it on your monitor rather than the TV.

So we're on the same page, is the software causing you grief the CD version of DNTV Live! or the one from the web download link?

Media Portal is prob the best thing compared to MCE 2005, that or install vista (just use xp bda drivers) on a seprate hard drive, DVR-MS format is gay tho, other choice is linux + myth tv, ps if you just want to record stuff and watch it later try webscheduler

i run msce 2005 and got a similary prob. it was working fine until i installed battlefields 2.

got a 6800, a monitor and tv, and nvidia decoders. ive got my displays set up as span. i have the msce app on the 2nd display (tv) maximized. Now when i watch tv or a dvd, it plays on both montiors! grrr.. very annoying.

tried setting the hw accel mode to something other than single display if there are any more options? I only have one monitor so I don't know if another option pops up when you connect another monitor

how about setting your tv as the primary monitor? so when you open the app, it opens on the tv? wouldn't that work?

That would also mean everything else he starts up starts on the tv too like games and stuff wouldn't it?

I'm gonna plug in my 2nd monitor tomorrow if I remember. I'm pretty sure I can just drag video windows around from screen to screen, mind you my tv tuner is set to vmr or overlay or something, it's not using any hardware acceleration. I'm using the fusion hdtv thing though, that DNTV didn't even detect my tv tuner so I can't try that.

Ultramon?

Its been a while but IIRC you can specify which programs you want to always open on the monitor of choice.
