here's a full lap from Webber in practice - raw onboard stream. If anyone wants it.

12mb.

what a great long weekend of sport. bloodshot eyes to be had by many on tuesday

Oh, and apparantly it is pretty much a signed deal for next year - Toyota engines in the Williams cars. As somewhat of a trade, though, Rosberg is now going to toyota which I think is a real shame. I was looking forward to seeing Rosberg find his feet in the Williams.

Williams had better be bringing in Sebastian Bourdais to replace Rosberg then :(

im a little disappointed them going to toyota engines, i know they will get more reliabaility (i hope) but i liked the whole underdog engine punching outside its weight (i.e. budget) division. and lets be real, those cosworths hauled ass. power was never a problem, just the kabooms were the problem. i hope webber can finally get a car that can be driven to the max and win. poeple who say dont run the car so hard then, um no, its F1, its the pinnacle of engineering, they should be able to be driven hard.

p.s. hope webbers car lasts and can place, was so disappointing at monaco.

Williams have said a lot of the problems have been related to their car not the engine. Whether or not that's the truth can be hard to tell in F1, but if it is then the move to Toyota is obviously entirely motivated by money (a manufaturer will back a team with more money than an independent builder can). Finding a manufacturer to badge the Cosworths may have been a better solution but harder work than signing on to Toyota.

About Bourdais, the guy clearly belongs in F1 but the owners don't seem to see America as a good proving ground anymore. Williams has brought more drivers over from America recently so there's a chance, but they sent guys like Montoya over in the first place knowing they wanted to bring them back.

Oh and even if the Toyota engines are badged as Lexus, it's going to be a real kick in the nuts for Toyota (with their massive and assumed much higher budget) if/when they start getting beaten by their customer team.
