ffs idiot enter is not tab.

Problem is - Just took a ghost image of C: (Important s***) and blasted D: (Some games etc) and I've formatted my drive so its now one partition C:

Now I had a few Games and Apps on D: (Steam being one of them)

What do I need to change, short of reinstalling, to redirect it to C:

Thanks

steam u can play without reinstalling
other games just search for game.exe and change the path from d:\games to c:\games or wat-have-you

what steve said was on the mark.. most things you should probably be able to run without farting around with the registry.

I'm still having problems with steam, I've changed everything in the registry containing the word steam to point to the correct path, but there's still some little secret file f***ing s*** up

I dont really know how steam works but when ever I format and I never reinstall war3 and frozen throne and update, its just takes too much time. So this is what I do. I copy the war3 folder over to another drive(say D:). After format, what I do is reinstall normal war3 (lets say on C:), then I delete everything in the C: folder but I leave the folder. Then I copy everything from the D: folder into the C: folder. The game works normally and updates normally for both war3 and FT.

The problem with registery is that its not as simple as changing one registry file, its more like 10 and they are not all in the same spot. Might be best just to reinstall the games / apps.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\

Create 4 String Values and enter the data.

1. SteamExe ie. "d:\steam\steam.exe"
2. SteamPath ie. "d:\steam\"
3. ModInstallPath ie. "d:\steam\steamapps\YOURACCOUNTNAME\half-life"
4. SourceModInstallPath ie. "d:\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods"

might want to add.

LastContentProviderURL "http://steam-web.games.internode.on.net/"

also.
