Leadtek 6600GT @ CA = $259

Not really a big fan of leadtek but with AGP these days your choices are getting pretty limited and it appears that its the only brand we got in stock atm. Will be a nice step up from an x300 as well.

CA is open 10am-4pm on Sundays, so yes if need be you can get it RIGHT NOW :)

Edit - Damn you rubba I know you work there but it's my job to mindlessly plug C.A.

Dont waste your time with sub $300 agp, either go a Gainward 7800GS Bliss+ (7900GT core 24 pipes and 512mb ram) or go a pci express mobo + 7800/7900GT.

I got myself an Albatron 6600GT Pci-e for $199 at CA, i'd expect the AGP version to be roughly around the same price. it's a pretty good card for what i use it for, ie. bf2

7600GT would be the go if you're gonna upgrade everything and go PCI-E.
Otherwise, 6600gt as suggested for the cheap, or if you want to spend a little more you could hunt around for a 6800GS. I didn't have much luck finding a 6800GS in local stores, ended up forking out a bit more and grabbing a 6800GS 512 AGP off Ebay (though I think it's around in stores now.) but you can probably find a 6800GS 256 for around the 325-350$ mark?

Edit: If this Or this thread is to be believed, 7600s could be coming out in agp soon, maybe wait for that?

Do CA like returns? Well , an exchange really

If it aint AGP it has to be PCI Express right? I got the computer from DELL about 12 months ago.

Id stretch the few dollars more and get a 7600gt personally, but yes an x800 will still kick the absolute crap out of an x300...

The 7600's are the newer tech, use less power for more graphical goodness.

They should swap it out for you no problems with a price adjustment to whatever other card you choose. Just explain you are a noob and f***ed up :P

Probaly the XFX, its got higher clocked memory and is a bit cheaper. Im not a fanboy of either brand and I haven't really heard anything bad about either.

Only reason I'd go BFG is if the warranty was any longer than XFX which is doubtful.

If you really want to look into it google up some reviews and compare the performance between brands.
