Hello, Got a problem with my mouse.. i think it's about a year old. It's a logitech Mx1000 Laser mouse.

Problem: Last night when i went to bed i threw my mouse on the charger and it started charging. Then my sister uses my computer in the morning, and reckons the mouse don't charge. Apparently it had 1 bar of battery on it then it went flat, when she tried to charge it it didn't.

What do you guys think? I've tried reconnecting all of it etc but no good.
Borked mouse?

Ta.

If the flashing sequence of lights is reaching 100%, and its not charging, then send it back. No external access to the batteries to replace them, and they are most likely a proprietary pack. could be a good reason to get the G7 mouse, but I've had two MX1000's since they were released here (home and work), and not had any battery charging issues. The MX700's were far worse.

Can you replace the battery in those things?

If so, do that.

They are Lithium, and they are internal.

Double checked the power connector to the base recharge station?

Yeah, it appears to be all hooked up properly.. Gah, guess it's just buggered. Odd though. What are the g7's like?

I've got 2 G7's and there great. Light weight, smooth, and the swappable batteries (you get 2 batteries) mean you never have to worry about the batteries dying on you.

I have a similar problem. I find I can't just chuck it on the charger anymore, I sorta hafta move it around a bit until the contacts connect and it starts charging.

I also have the same god damn problem of my sister using my computer, anyone got a fix for that :D

Porn on the desktop, and leave tissues and lube on the desk.

* Untested theory, may or may not work

Try cleaning the terminals in the charger and on the base of the mouse.

mine's sensitive and just needs to be positioned in the charger EXACTLY RIGHT or it doesn't light up.

that's why i bought a g7, unfortunately i find the g7s not as good for gaming. Too sensitive and too much messing around getting it right.

hit the contacts with a wire brush to really get em where it hurts, its tough buggers like dirt and grime that really resist the soap and damp towel. hardcore
bend the contacts up more
or pull the base apart(if got no warrenty) and check the solder points arnt fooked

Didn't take me too long to get mine right, the only bad thing I have to say about the G7 is that there is only one thumb button on the left instead of two (My previous mice were MX 700's - wireless keyboard/mice set).
