Topic: Weird folder view settings problem in XP

Hi guys. I'm having a weird problem with certain users unable to set list view for all folders in XP.

i.e Open my computer, select list view, then go into folder options->view->apply to all folders.

One would expect that now going to any folder in my computer would display the list view.

For most users this works fine, but for a few it doesn't.

Enviroment is NT4 server and XP SP2 desktop.

Anyone come across this before?

Thanks.

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, this is a bug in XP itself, soemtimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes the settings change back to some bs you never set ever. Anyone feel free to correct me though.

yo I got a more odd problem in the same field. In my folders which contain music albums, you can right click and go "sort by track number" yeah, but there is one folder that just wont do it! the tags are all fine....cant figure it out....changed the folder setting to music under customize and that... Anyone got ideas? cheers...

Did you install some form of fix that would stop windows giving that stupid "cant delete because its in use" error for vid files? I know there was some form of fix (could even be non-microsoft) that stops the vid preview so the stupid error doesnt happen anymore.

that is an annoying error but nah I installed no such fix, all you have to do is try to delete it again

I wanna know how to apply "align to grid", to all folders on the comp.
But I don't think it is possible

Edit: DeathSyndrome, change folder to details - right click on the Name/Type/Size tab at the top, click more - check what options you want and ok - change back to icon view
