Ok I figured I'd start a new thread where we can try and help each other out on missions we're stuck on.

Here's mine, where the hell do you find those 12 fish scales? the guy says there's a spawning pond nearby but I've only come across 2 fish in the entire game, both right outside the prison sewers exit at the very start of the game.

From memory, the ruins of Miscarcand (half way between Kvatch and Skingrad) are inhabited by a gang of Bitterfish Goblins (or something). When you kill them you can always find some scales on their body.

I havent done that fish scale quest yet, and I just sold something like 15 scales for a few measley bucks :(

Cool, I'll check that place out, I've just been going from one town to the next, doing what missions are in each and then moving on to the next, getting mage guild recommendations and help for bruma in the process, I still haven't even been to the 2 cities at the bottom of the map

is this for the fisherman dude? if so, just swim around the lake and follow the green arrow on the compass; it changes place as you kill each fishy.

this is for the dude with the bung leg who needs 12 scales to retire, I activated the objective as my current mission, but no arrow pops up for me

It never gives me the chance to bribe or play speechcraft game. Speech box closes straight after telling me to f*** off.

You might be too much of a c*** for him to talk to? (too much infamy?)
Maybe try casting some charm spells on him?

I tried a 24pt charm spell, nothing different. I guess I need to improve speechcraft or soemthing.

I need help not getting bloody sidetracked.
I am at level 25, and only just closed my first oblivion gate (the one the main quest gives you)
I walked up to the dude in fromt of the gate and he goes "Halt citizen go back"... i mean jeez i am wearing daedric armour and have an ebony sword, yet he doesnt just go "Hey get in there and kill stuff for us k?"

CTD, whats your infamy like? Have you got into the arcane university, you might be able to make a more powerful charm spell, or an improve speechcraft spell. (assuming thats the problem)

quest one, talk to the wife, I think she'll tell you to talk to people in town or give you some clues

quest two, there's a skeletal hand in front of the cabinet on the left when you walk in your house, I think from memory it's got a diary or something in it, take it back to that dude

Were talking about a game greazy, not your personal life.

In times long ago, there exist a man, a man who fought against trolls, a man who dedicated his life for pretecting the internet, keeping it troll free keeping it idiot free... he died while protecting the thing he loved most. That man was Greasy I.

Well you sure are doing a bang up job there greazy doing what you "fought against", keep it up jackass.

Soon someone will ask for help in the missing painting quest :P

My gayest Oblivion experience(s) so far: At the Clavious Vile (or whatever) daedric shrine you have to get umbra and then hand it back to the statue. Everytime you do this on the 360 version it locks up. This prevents you from doing the final shrine quest which has the best reward (a book that gives you +10 to all your attributes I think it is).

Also, I did every other daedric shrine quest and put the items in my arch-mage quarters in the dresser at the end of the bed. I came back the next day and they had all vanished, as that particular dresser is one that respawns it's items. So many awesome and unique items lost forever :(

Try revisiting during the day, roughly between 9am and 9pm.

Guild buildings are as mentioned above, in major cities. Just visit what you think is the main part of a city during the day, and try to enter buildings that have a sign hanging out the front. One of them will be the Mage's guild for that particular city. I say the day because you won't be able to access the Mage's living quarters when they're sleeping at night unless you are a member :)

In Anvil (left-most city on the map), there's one directly in front of you when you spawn in the town.

The mystery at harlun's watch quest, if u have already been to that cave before you have done the quest it bugs out and doesnt spawn the dead body of the person and cant complete the quest. lame.

Yeah, I can't justify playing more than 5 hours a week. So much gameplay for very little reward.

Might spend more time in the gym or do more study.

I was avoiding posting this to avoid s***ting up the thread, but since the above two posts did it already -- this game exceeds all my expectations of boredom. Shallow (shallow) & clumsy melee combat, mundane quests, no variety :( If you don't play a stealth class forget about even beginning to enjoy the f***ing thing, too.

What a surprise, Hashy doesn't like something else. Tell you what, it'd probably be easier if you only posted to tell us of things that you do like. Much less work then.

i cant pay it, it wont let me the onl option available is to resist arrest. otherwise i would gladly pay it, and as far as joining the theives guild goes, every time i brake into that house to steal the gernal i get arrested..where is the jernal anyway?

i get into the house go to the desk has some accounts book but no jernal..i took everything in the desk and did get it..where is the damn thing?

Well, I like rewarding and, more importantly, consistantly fun to play games. It was probably oblivion's disturbing lack of either that killed it for me. I normally like most RPGs.

A comprehensive list of games that I enjoy would be break the forums database. I'm not that jaded.

i'm pretty sure that it should be in the desk in the living/dining room of the house. Not in the bedroom. unless the other theif has already got it, then you have to pick it off them.

Let her steal it an then snatch it from her while she's asleep. Much easier

Also, I've compiled a list from snatches of stuff I've surfed, of where to get training and from whom which I'll upload later (and link here) if anyone is interested. It's a two page .doc

I've also somehow contracted vampirism without noticing it... DAMMIT. Wondered why I was starting to get weird ass dreams then BOOM walk out into sunlight an bleed/burn to death

One of the thieves took off, so i just followed her and when she went into the house so did i, saw her sneaking about, opened the first desk i came to and there was the Journal.
She goes "I didnt see anything" and then walks off.
