thats the most reserved jerds interview ive ever seen. where was the over-the-top american accent? The anime poses? The hugs?

And just cos you can never have too much jerds:

Oh Jerds... there was no leaping about exclaiming "Delightful" or even a "It's perfect.. who could resist?!" The "to the point" delivery could have used a few overtly inserted ads for Jerds Fine Fruitly Wares somewhere... at least pimp teh tron l33tness. Hell the entire piece was crying out for a overly energetic powerman.

Hey team! Yer, it's fairly amazing how much publicity Parkour is getting at the moment.
If this stuff interests you, check out www.ParkourAustralia.com . Come to a jam!

If by "old" you mean "your mum"... Courier Mail only did the interview on Wed arvo. :) My ankle is on the way back (after torn ligam0nt axn) - give it maybe another month, and hopefully I'll be doing serious parkour again!

S1 Crew: Thanks for postign those sexi fotos. :P I need more bicep. I couldn't find my GT-Four in the background cerb? By the way, tell Chunners she's out.

Most of our guys were injured/tired from previous training, plus it was in the wet.
But there's no doubt that the international guys, and the videos you see of the pros *are* leaps and bounds above our current skill levels in certain ways.

The pre-title sequence in the upcoming James Bond film, Casino Royale, has been confirmed as a roof-top chase that implements many aspects of Parkour. Sebastien Foucan has been hired to perform the stunts for the character that James Bond will be chasing. The scene will be filmed in Nassau, Bahamas, but the Bahamas have been confirmed as doubling for Madagascar.

Hey Jerds, I saw a group at practicing what appears to be freerunning/pakour the southbank piazza last monday evening (also where/when there were people practicing juggling & spinning) , any relation to your group?

I'd turn gay for Jerds...

On a more serious note, is there like some Parkour training for the uber-noobified? Like for the marginally fit people with limited reflexes, coordination and balance? I'd love to do some light parkour training just to help improve my general fitness, balance and coordination. Would be really cool if there were training sessions that just started people from the very basics like how to land a fall, how to jump properly etc. and gradually work up to more clever/intensive tricks.

i think that group will eventually end up like boxing trainers who tire of seeing people stroll into the gym wanting to learn and giving up soon after, to be replaced by new newbs

Tribal there is such groups... 95% of people come to there first jam without ANY knowledge/techniques of parkour. All the flips/spins you see are from a discipline called tricking, parkour is about fast effecient movement (not style/looking cool). I have personally run at least 5 - 6 newcomers through the fundamental landing techniques, rolling, basic vaults, jumping techniques and introduce them to the philosophy and try and expand the way the view there urban enviroment.

So definetely come along... chubba75 at hotmail dot com is my msn for any QGLers wanting to learn more about the discipline or arrange a training session.
