How about people who write software for Windows, write it so that you don't have to be logged in with "Admin" priviledges to run the f***ing application (well, it would help). Firefox for the win though

Every time there is a flaw it's "complete control", Why can't they find flaws that do nothing more then change your wallpaper or mess up your desktop icons!

Yeah I realise that my drift wasn't specifically IE related, just sick of the need for everyone to be an Admin on PC's cause it's really unnecessary from a security point of view. Have you tried playing a game on an XP machine where your not logged in as an admin lately?

Experts have noted that, while the flaw is serious, those wishing to exploit it would have to entice users to click a link that takes them to a specially crafted Web site. In addition, for a PC to be affected, it must be running in administrator mode.I'm sick of that cop-out. People just need to be exposed to the exploit. They could very well be reading a trusted site like QGL, but if that morning it was hacked and the malicious code included in the footer with that RedSherrif s*** you are f***ed. On top of that, a large portion of net users surf the seedier side of the net to hunt for whack-off material, so are exposed. It's a remotely executed full control exploit. That's serious. Don't down play it. It's serious whether you have to be exposed to 'naughty people' or not! |
