after the onslaught of all the ps3's new info today, tomorrow will be nintendo president Satoru Iwata's speech (occuring 4.30am our time). Apparently the final name of the system will be announced (I hope it stays Rev or something like Nintendo RS to stay in line with the ds.

Anyway, I'll update some news on here later, but for now, some new pics have come out of GDC that show the sexiness and smallness of this machine :P the back is shown with 2 usb ports and it looks like the AV out is the same as the gamecubes digital AV out so you can use your component cables with it. yay!

click the pics for a closer look

i really like their new concept with the interface...its a bit of a toss up if it will catch on though. microsoft and sony have massive marketing funds now.

Its pretty small, eh!

Is that bottom thing just a stand? It looks like you might be able to pull it out of that and keep it horizontally maybe?

well, theyre totally not going for the sony/xb fight anyway, they still make the great 1st party games, and still make mad amounts of money, they are doing things right for the fans and themselves so I dunno whats wrong with that.

it may be surprising though, and catch on a lot, just like the DS has been owning the psp, even though its the underpowered machine. it's all in the software :P

yer well nintendo is most well known for its portable consoles. it was sonys first foray into portables so its pretty understandable that ds would do better.

I don't think you can use that as a reason why the PSP sucks balls. Remember the Playstation was Sonys first entry into the console market and that owned the N64.

I just noticed the main 'revmote' has been changed having 'a' and 'b' written next to the renamed 'x' and 'y' buttons. so if you turn it on the side you can play nes games :P

The bottom thing appears to be a powerback, but I've heard about the possibility of a horizontal version.

id say around 200 USD. every nintendo console in the past has at that price point and most speculation points to that price..

Ha! Even better, also Miyamoto has said that the new up coming Zelda: TP will be playable using the Revolution controler!

Unfortunately he apparently took this back a couple of weeks later - he didn't rule it out completely, but said that the original interviewer had slightly misquoted him or something.

I have this gut feeling in my gut telling me that the nin rev is going to be a flop. But my other gut feeling in my gut is that i think i'm person afraid of change.
