So what was Hunter saying about Geminis? Pretty sure to do that sort of s*** has alot more to do with driver skills than the car. |

Pity they don't do it in decent carsI'd like to see you pull off half that s*** in a skyline. Some cars are great at sticking to the road like glue and going super fast through corners while still going straight. Some cars don't handle so well and so they are better at being thrown around. You don't use snow tread/chains on asphalt and you don't use slicks in the snow. At the very least, those old Gemini's etc. would be cheap to replace if smashed (Although, speaking in terms of the time that film was made, in those days it probably would not have been). It's about using the right tool for the right job. Your posts always seem to lack even the smallest attempt at thought before pressing the post button. |

Okay at first, this title infuriated me enough to login for the first time in years. Secondly ive been drinking. Thirdly i was plesently surprised.
Now replies to posts? You can do all kinds of crazy things in cars, from stock excells to riced out wrx's or skylines. Frontwheel drives DO drift. Its just pointless to, in a race. It was done in gem's but could have been done equally in other cars. Also could have been differently in other cars. Think about it like speed bike riding, vs flatland bmx'ing, vs mountain biking, vs ramp bmxing. Think of an average bmx. One that you would throw around a ramp. Pretty basic frame, probably cost $30 in a garage sale, and you see people doing all kinds of crazy s***... but if you tried to use a road bike, it would be difficult with the tyres and the fragility, not to mention length of the bike. It might be possible, but the execution would look different for the same stunt on a mountain bike compared to a bmx bike. Same with a gemeni, you can do that kind of thing, but to execute it would look alot different if they did that instead say with a typeR civic. You would get the same effect, but probably look crisper as the suspension would be tighter, the drifts would be pulled harder, because the body roll is lessened, and would be trying to counter it, they would have more power and torque, tyres, so probably would need more speed sharper manuvres etc to get the same thing, but it would be the same, but there would be differences. So dont go on about "car this car that". You may aswell say "I like this style thats done with this car more." which in all effect just sounds wanky. Now that this post is done, I very much wish this was the quality of modern day ads. I almost WANT a gem after this. And i worked at Holden, I know how terrible they are =p. <-- Consumer whore :C TL;DR - Good video. LOL at nF. Video cool. Wish modern ads put this kind of s*** in, rather then "She sees but she is blind, and she is feeling but she is not seeing, because she is at peace. She is a bind peaceful monkey when she drives... Zoom Zoom." Edit: hermi, do you mean like 6L v8's are "muscle cars?" Define. last edited by skythra at 21:59:29 11/Mar/06 |

Unfortunately I dont think modern day adds could have the same content as the upright pedestrian brigade would scream at any car that appears to be moving fast/has any traction loss/appears that the driver is having fun.

Your bike analogy is gay, and I can assure you, there are plenty of things you can and can't do between different bikes. I rode them for 6+ years with rubba-chikin, doing all the stupid stuff on a BMX to know.
Firstly, $30 bmx won't hold up 2 seconds throwing it around. Secondly, There are a number of things that can be done on a BMX that, due to the design of a mountain bike, without modification from the norm, is impossible. Thirdly, a road bike has completely the wrong structural integrity, and the design is completely FUBAR for throwing your weight around on it to do what you want through the air. LAnding on those gay ass small tyres would also be a feat in itself. A Motorbike has different tricks that are incredibly hard/suicidal to nigh on impossible to do on a BMX for the same reason - the Motorobike is more stable in the air as it has more weight and it gets alot more hang-time from being able to travel further.. Get a tow-in off a moto and try to jump your BMX the same distance as a moto and pull off a moto-stunt in-between and I'll see you in the emergency department. It is a case of the right tool for the right job. last edited by Loki at 00:02:16 12/Mar/06 |

That's correct Greyden, I know more about cars, bikes, and physics than you do. you probably do know far more then i do in those 3 subjects, though i have a great understanding on bike mechanics and operation. my point however had nothing todo with me knowing more then you or you knowing more then me. but you failed to see that. |
