THE alleged Australian ringleader of an international software and movie piracy group may be extradited to the US if he fails to appear in an American court later this month.

US authorities have dubbed Mr O'Toole, who allegedly went by the nickname "Chucky", the de facto leader of the underground piracy group RISCISO.

RISCISO allegedly downloaded 19,000GB of software, computer games and movies with a total retail value in excess of $US6.5 million ($8.8 million).

The penalties will most probably be more severe if he has to be extradited, id rather pay 1-1.5k for an airfair and stay outta jail for 6 months.
