For me it would be:

Photoshop
AnyDVD
DVD Shrink
Traktor DJ Studio

Really love AnyDVD the way it skips all the crap at the beginning of DVD's and starts right at the beginning of the movie when you go to watch something. Prolly the best thing I've grabbed in a long time.

Photoshop and DVD Shrink are also the best things going around.

one of the reasons i love xbox media player center. it does the same thing.
also provides all the audio and subtitles etc options with a simple easy quick menu if needed, which isnt usually the case cept if you wanna listen to the commentry etc.

I'm stuck in a land of IE, Visual Studio and Eclipse :(

Oh, and I agree with Insom, Corel Photo Paint > Adobe Photoshop :D

vlc does this too, go open disc & open it as dvdsimple:// whatever your drive is here. Actually I haven't tried it on all my dvds, but the ones I have used it on it just plays right from the start of the movie & skips all the menus.

now, my fav programs in no particular order:
winamp
msn
opera/firefox
acdsee
nero
videolan (vlc)
counterstrike (lol)

if I had to choose between all the crap I have installed, and just 10 programs or less, those would be what I install.

No I don't. I hate it with a passion. It looks kludgy, like running a AWT/Swing app under a Win32 environment. It renders everything the way I consider to be incorrect (don't give me crap about the W3 standards - standard my ass, their box model makes NO sense whatsoever, you can claim all you want, Microsoft got this one right). It's no quicker than IE7b2, and chews just as much memory. I can't see an advantage to it at all.

Give me a copy of firefox that uses all the same native controls as IE uses, and well talk.

Hang on a minute... that would make it IE! Oh well, guess I'm perfectly happy sticking with IE.

Heh.. i'm a bit like that. I'm a web programmer and when I CSS style a page I do it first and formost to look proper on IE seeing as it's what the majority uses. I'll still make sure it looks fine in FireFox though i won't pay as much attention to detail so sometimes small things might look a bit different. usually top and bottom margins where they shouldnt be and stuff like that. I figure there's gotta be a lot of developers out there that are lazy like me so I use IE because it shows these pages the way they were made to be displayed. Developers have to support the majority right?

flame on :)
