Topic: TV's - LCD or Plasma?

Looking at buying a LCD or Plasma TV today, not sure which to look at. It's not going to be too big as its for the bedroom and is going to be wall mounted. I have a 142cm tv downstairs so i already have one big tv in the house. 42" is too dear and too big, so what sizes do they have? online info seems minimal apart from going to every single manufactoers site.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Prolly not best to go buy one on a whim eg little research done etc.. but anyway

fark if only you could wait a bit samsung and lg are preparing to flood the market with a mammoth number of screens in the next few months all in an attempt to boost the uptake of flat panel tvs

They have smaller sized models and people are always saying that Benq pretty decent price as well.

new technology of CRT's is coming out soon. i would always choose a crt over a lcd/plasma/rearpro.

I'm with tung, top of the line CRTs are still better.

true. I was just stating a fact :)

I'd go with LCD for a medium-sized wall-mount screen.

thanks for all the recommendations, ended up getting a phillips 26" lcd, $1700, cant argue that. very nice monitor and one of the few lcd's of that size that can be wall mounted (alot of others have big bulky backs with odd shapes so it cant sit flat against the wall).

For those who can't be bothered reading, LCD's should go down in price quite dramatically over the next 12 months. So, if you're looking to buy a TV and can hold off, you might be better off!

My family got a new Sony Bravia LCD for christmas. It's a big f***er though. Still, picture quality is pretty good. I swear it took a while to wear in because I could have sworn it looked crap when we first set it up and now it looks nice... :S who knows. That's with foxtel digital though, DVD's look great. $300 for the cables alone :/
