So, im capped. and although its at 64kbs it feels so much slower than dialup use to. im wondering if anyone knows why this is and how to fix it. i would try google. but i time out too much :/

get that tcp optimizer thing or whatever its called and optimize your connection for 56k. Apparently the lan connector doesn't use compression so data comes through uncompressed or something. When you get capped it ends up being slower than 56k. Least that's how I remember someone explained it once on here.

I've been too busy working on the car and all sorts of crap (work etc.) and had barely touched the net at all except viewing qgl and a few forums.
Downloaded maybe 2gig worth of data and got capped.
Wasn't impressed at where the extra useage magically came from :/

I am on 12G/24G Orfpeak with OPTarse.

They tell me that today I overshot my limit and my speed has been capped. However I have noticed no difference so far.

I am scared I will wake up tomorrow and find the nets horribly slow. Should the capping be instant (ie. have I somehow escaped?) or can I expect to slump in my chair in the moring when I realise I have two days of slugnet?

Not that it's a big deal cos it's nearly NYE and then a new month will tick over, giving me speed when I need it most...

PS Whats the 20gig plan cost?

I was paying $150 a month for unlimited,but it slowed down the more you downloaded,it had a priority type thing on it for those who downloaded less.

I too am capped at home and it definately feels way too slow even for dial-up speeds.

I've never been capped until this month. Christmas day my exchange got upgraded and before I went to bed I put on a couple of torrents. Needless to say when I woke up 8 hours later I was capped.
