Anyone know of a good alarm / central locking installler in brissy?.. Prices??
was going to install the alarm and locking kit myself but it looks like a pain in the ass to find all the wires under my dash and would probabily require me to remove most of the dash anyway to get access. |

i guess i should look at the tech manual for my car and look at the positions of the various wires. My only problem is finding the wires it wants and finding the ECU and fuel pump circuts so i can put the immobaliser in

just find the ecu and cut the wires going to it. My ecu in my vr is under a plastic kick panel in the passenger side foot well. Piss easy to get to. There's no messing around under the dash at all. Maybe your car will be similar.

its all easy until you do something wrong.
Think about how much you would pay someone to fix your car becase you stuffed it up. Now halve that amount and if its less than that to have someone install it then let them do it. |

im toying with the idea of saving $240 bucks and installing myself - but i really need some guidence.
Is there any generic website/ guide out there that gives you the steps of installing? Will i need to rewire the car with additional wire runs to get to the circuts i need or does the alarm sit in a central location where the 30cm wire ends can reach all the circuts it needs ? |

ask yourself this question: hello kitty has witnessed me install all manor of items in my car(s) over the years. power windows, electric antennas, amps, speakers, stereos, clocks, all kinds of gauges that add at least 10hp at the wheels man. I've not once f***ed any of my cars up. Hell I got out the good old mig welder and welded the panel on the outside of the car that sits right next to the ECU, I didn't fry s***. Hell, I built one of my cars, was only a gemini but it started as nothing more than a shell with tyres, no windows no nothin. Got all the s*** for it & put it all together. Only thing I didn't do was paint it. All this while hello kitty watched faithfully from my back window. last edited by whoop at 01:00:06 28/Dec/05 |
