Yellow all, I know it's been a while since I posted here so i'll get straight to it.

My musical taste has been lead astray (on purpose too I think) by my mates, for years I have been fully into metal and nothing but metal.

But after having Aussie hip-hop rammed into my head the last few months, I must say I enjoy some hip hop like Hilltop hoods / muph + plutonic etc.

Just wondering, if people here are in the hip-hop scene, do any of you know of any hip-hop (australian) sites or good bands etc?

My mates are fully into it and have their own group too.

I thought whilst I am away from them and I have access to the net, I may aswell try and get / learn as much as I can about AUSSIE HIPPETTY HOPPY!

Chars!

Tanaka Khan wins the thread.

The only aus hip-hop song I have ever liked was this song done by these two guys who are making fun of wiggas and stuff. Anybody know the song or the guys?

i saw regurgitator recording hip-hop tracks in a glass house/studio in exhibition square in melbourne (or whatever the square is called)
was weird, tho it was cool you could send em emails or sms them and stuff
i prefer regurgitators old stuff tho, myself

While not being a huge fan of aussie music in general,i wont turn off regurgitator when ever there on the radio, and dont really consider them to be hip hop.

the fact that band in a bubble was pulled togeather by regurgitator made the only decent attempt at reality TV yet.

hehe its funny coz of the gurg's track 1 on the unit LP : 01 I Like Your Old Stuff Better Then Your New Stuff :P

I wouldn't call the gurg a hiphop band either because they cover a pretty broad spectrum of music from pub-thrash-rock to total electronica in the 'happyland' configuration. However... the LP i mentioned is hiphop.

I moved to North Sydney about 3 months ago now (still read QGL for some reason).
There's a club across the road from my apartment building called Greenwood, Wednesdays they do live Aussie hip hop battles

also, my view off the balcony :p

I find it hard to believe the Resin Dogs haven't come up yet. They started my interest in aus hip hop.

As of late I've been really getting into Douglas Fir, tho they're funk/rock, not hip hop, but they're another good example of the wealth of local talent around.
